Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Kuemper Had Lead in 1st Half in Loss to Ranked Underwood on Friday

The Knights battled back after giving up an early touchdown, taking a lead in the 2nd quarter. A late Eagles score put them up by 3 at half. Neither team did much in the 2nd half with Underwood getting a passing touchdown to Mason Boothby, extending the lead to two scores. The loss drops the Knights to 0-2 with their opponents 3-1 combined. 

Brock Badding made his first start at quarterback, throwing for 254-yards and a pair of touchdowns. He threw a perfect pass to Michael Kasperbauer for a 58-yard touchdown in the 2nd quarter and added a 12-yard pass to John Boes. Those two touchdowns gave the Knights a 14-7 lead in the 2nd quarter. Underwood battled back with 10-points to regain the lead at half at 17-14. Underwood scored the only points in the 2nd half as they improved to 1-1. 

The Knights struggled to get the running game established, carrying the ball 22 times for 52-yards. They had seven different players catch a pass with Ben Gerken and Carson Kanne each having three catches. 

The Knights host 2-0 AHSTW in their final non-district game on Friday on 1380 AM/95.1 FM KCIM.
