The Titans got some revenge, snapping a 2-game losing streak in a big way. The Titans took charge in the 2nd half, outsourcing the Indians 20-7. The running game was strong, rushing for 237-yards on 43 attempts. They added 127-yards and a pair of touchdowns through the air. The defense struggled at times last season, but looked good on Friday, holding the Indians to 153-yards rushing and 4.5 yards per carry. They picked off a pair of passes with Gavin Batta returning one for a 55-yard touchdown. South Central Calhoun led 8-7 at the end of the 1st quarter, extending it to 14-7 at half. A pair of 3rd quarter touchdowns blew the game open.
Gavin Batta threw for a pair of touchdowns and 127-yards on 19 attempts. The running game was balanced with Zach Trott leading the way with 60-yards on 11 attempts, Cole Higgins added 57-yards on 11 attempts, Gavin Batta and Brock Nattress both had 55-yards on 10 and 7 carries respectively. Batta and Nattress both had rushing touchdowns. The Titans defense forced a pair of interceptions with Gavin Batta taking one 55-yards for a touchdown. Cole Higgins led the defensive effort with 7 tackles.
The Titans opened the season 1-0 and will travel to Southwest Valley on Friday.
