The Ar-We-Va Rockets pick up a big week one win at home Against Exira-EHK 46-44. With most of the roster returning, the Rockets are looking to turn heads this season. Blayne Smith returned and QB for Ar-We-Va and only threw five incomplete passes Friday night while tossing 252 yards and four touchdowns. Wyatt and Wade Ragaller had good nights on the ground as they combined for 102 yards and five touchdowns.

It was a sloppy first half but had plenty of scoring as Ar-We-Va took a 34-22 lead into the locker room. Returning from the break, Ar-We-Va did not score, and Exira-EHK took a 38-34 lead into the fourth quarter. The Rockets would fight back in the final quarter to win 46-44. Wade Ragaller came up with the game-winning interception as Exira-EHK drove late in the fourth quarter. The win improves Ar-We-Va’s record to 1-0 on the season.
