The Merchants rallied late, scoring twice in the bottom 7th to win it. Michael Alt remained on a terror at the plate and Cullen McBride was outstanding on the hill. Joshua Koskie, continues to be a outstanding late season pickup.

Michael Alt started the rally in the 7th with a walk and Chris Hege reached on an error. Bryce Yosko was hit-by-pitch to load the bases and Ethan Cole flew out to left field scoring Alt to tie the game at 2. Joshua Koskie walked to load the bases again and Cullen McBride was hit-by-pitch, scoring Hege for the game ending run. The Merchants scored the final 3-runs of the game. Chillicothe scored a pair of runs in the 4th, starting the inning with a pair of singles. The baserunners stole 2nd and 3rd, setting up both runners to score on a sac fly, followed by a groundout to 2nd base. The Merchants cut into the deficit with a Joshua Koskie triple in the 6th, scoring on a fly out by Justin Johnson.

Michael Alt had pair of hits and scored the tying run. Joshua Koskie tripled as part of a 2 hit night and scored a run. Justin Johnson added an RBI and Chris Hege scored the winning run. Cullen McBride earned the win, going 7 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 earned runs with 5 strikeouts.

The Merchants pull into a tie with Chillicothe for 3rd place in the conference, earning the sweep, winning the second game comfortably. Carroll jumped out 9-0 before the Mudcats scored a three runs in the 6th inning. Noah Dutler gave the Merchants a second great start on the hill, going all 7 innings to earn the win. The Merchants out hit Chillicothe 9-7 but took advantage of 7 walks by Mudcats pitching. Carroll left 11 guys on base while Chillicothe left 8 runners on base.

A Joshua Koskie double, drove in a pair of runs in the bottom 1st as the Merchants took advantage of a hit-by-pitch of Chris Hege and Bryce Yosko reaching on an error. The Mudcats left a runner on base in each of the first-two innings. Carroll pounced again in the 2nd inning. Michael Alt singled and stole 2nd base. Chris Hege singled and Bryce Yosko walked to load the bases. Ethan Cole picked up a pair of RBI with a double, scoring Hege and Alt. Yosko scored later in the inning on a wild pitch. The Merchants led 5-0 after 2 innings. Dutler kept batting out of runners on base as Chillicothe left a runner on base in every inning. The Merchants put the game away in the 4th with a 3-run inning. Ethan Cole reached on an error and Lane Spieker doubled. Cole scored on a wild pitch and Spieker scored on a single by Jordan Brandenburg. Another Mudcat error later in the inning allowed Kyle Berg to score. Berg walked earlier in the inning.

Michael Alt had another multi hit game with 2 hits and an RBI. Bryce Yosko scored twice. Ethan Cole doubled, scoring a pair of runs and Joshua Koskie doubled, scoring a pair of runs. Lane Spieker singled and scored and Jordan Brandenburg added an RBI. Noah Dutler got the win, going all 7 innings with 7 hits and 2 earned runs with 5 strikeouts.

The Merchants evened their record at 18-18, dropping Chillicothe to 17-17 in the conference and 19-17 overall. Carroll has won 4 of their last 5 games. They host Des Moines Peak on Friday and Clarinda on Saturday, before going on the road for 5 games before closing out the season at home on Sunday, July 23rd against Clarinda.
