Kuemper continued to struggle to find the gaps against Treynor, an issue they have had this week. They went down in order in each of the first-three innings, only striking out thee times. They were still in the ball game, having held Treynor scoreless until the 3rd inning. The Cardinals had back-to-back singles, scoring a run. Kuemper responded in the 4th, Melinda Schaefer doubled and scored on a ground out by Ellie Sibbel. The game changed in the 5th inning when Treynor scored 5-runs with a pair of hits, but helped out by two big Kuemper errors. The Cardinals blew the game open with 2 more runs in the 6th and 3 more in the 7th. The Knights had three singles and used a Treynor error to help score 2-runs in the 6th.
Melinda Schaefer had a team high 2 hits with a double and scored 2 of the Knights 3 runs. Ellie Sibbel drove in a pair of runs while Kaylie Diercksen and Kyla Wiskus each had a base hit. Kaci Peter scored the Knights other run. Myli Schaefer took the loss, going 6 2/3 innings, allowing 12 hits and 7 earned runs with 8 strikeouts.

Carroll took charge early in their opening round game, scoring 5-runs in the 1st inning. The combined a good game offensively with a strong pitching performance from Camryn Schable and a solid defensive effort. Carroll out hit the Titans 7 to 3 but did a nice job getting key hits with runners on base. Lewis Central scored a run in the 2nd inning but the Tigers answered with a pair in the bottom half. The game was called due to time limit in the 5th inning.
Makalei Kofron hit a shot well over the left field fence for her second home run of the season, finishing with a RBI and a pair of runs scored. Kloee Jones had a team high 2 hits while Camryn Schable doubled and drove in a team high 3 runs. Emma Kuhlmann doubled, driving in a pair of runs. Bailey Bowman scored twice. Camryn Schable earned the win, going 5 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run with 5 strikeouts.

Carroll suffered a heart breaking loss that was surrounded by controversy. The Tigers loaded the bases in the 6th with 2-outs. They hit a slow roller up the 1st base line, fielded by the 1st baseman, who tagged the runner out as she ran by. The ball appeared to be foul and the entire field stopped, including the 1st baseman, who appeared to be confused about what happened. The ball was called fair and the out ended the inning, which ended the game, due to the time limit.
Carroll started slowly on offense, finally coming to life over the final two innings, but they were only able to score 2 combined runs. Treynor scored in the 1st inning but Carroll tied it up in the 3rd. The Cardinal bats heated up in the 4th inning, scoring 3-runs. Carroll had chances late in the game, getting runners in scoring position but weren’t able to get the clutch hit, scoring a run in the 5th and another in the 6th.
Kloee Jones led the Tigers with 3 hits while Averi Burke and Camryn Schable each had 2 hits. Burke doubled and scored, adding an RBI. Schable hit a nice triple to right field and scored. Burke took the loss, going 4 1/3 innings with 7 hits and 4 earned runs.
The Tigers went 1-1 on the day, moving to 14-16 on the season. They head to Boone on Monday.

Lewis Central exploded for 7-runs in the 1st inning, building a 12-2 lead but Kuemper fought back, finally finding the gaps in the 5th innings, scoring 3-runs. That seemed to ignite an offense that had been snakebit this past week. Kuemper added a pair of runs in the 7th but feel, going 0-2 at their tournament. A Morgan Masching single started the rally in the 5th. Kaci Peter singled and Kaylie Diercksen doubled with all three of those girls scoring. Melinda Schaefer reached on an error in the 7th, then scored on a double by Ellie Sibbel. Lewis Central added a pair of runs in the 2nd inning, getting their last 3 in the 3rd inning.
Kaci Peter had a team high 3 hits, scoring twice. Melinda Schaefer drove in a run and scored twice. Kaylie Diercksen and Ellie Sibbel both doubled with both having a pair of RBI. Ally Sommerfeld, Myli Schaefer and Charlotte Schwabe combined to allow 13 hits and 12 runs.
The Knights went 0-2 on the day, dropping the Knights to 15-17. Kuemper hosts Clarinda for a varsity doubleheader on Monday.

The Wolves picked up their third win of the season in impressive style, dominating Essex, scoring in four of the six innings they batted in. IKM-Manning collected 14 hits while holding Essex to 5. Karlee Arp was strong in the circle, striking out 8. The Wolves blew the game open in the 4th after Essex took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd, IKM-Manning responded with 2 in the 3rd but scored 5-runs in the 4th to take control. Taylor Beckendorf started the rally with a single and Olivia Robinson tripled. Ella Richard doubled and Karlee Arp kept it going with a walk, followed by a hit-by-pitch for Hannah McKinney. Anna Stangl singled and Grace Carroll walked and Alikxa McGinn was hit-by-pitch. Stangl, Beckendorf, Robinson, Arp and McKinney all scored. Essex scored 3 in the 6th but IKM-Manning answered with 3 of their own, highlighted by a home run from Alexis Gruhn.
Taylor Beckendorf paced the Wolves with 3 hits and scoring twice while Anna Stangl, Olivia Robinson, Ella Richards and Hannah McKinney all had 2 hits. Robinson tripled and scored twice and McKinney added a pair of runs scored. Grace Carroll and Ella Richards both doubled. Karlee Arp earned the win, going 7 innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 earned run with 8 strikeouts.

IKM-Manning completed their sweep of their games, never trailing and for the second game in a row, blowing the game open in the 4th inning. The Wolves took the early lead, scoring a pair of runs in the 2nd inning with back-to-back singles by Alexis Gruhn and Olivia Robinson, who both came around to score. An Alikxa McGinn single in the 3rd led to another run when Taylor Beckendorf reached on an error. The Rams pulled within a run, scoring 2 in the bottom 3rd but the Wolves opened up the lead in the 4th. Ella Richards got on base by hit-by-pitch, Hannah McKinney walked, Anna Stangl hit into a fielder’s choice as did Grace Carroll, Alikxa McGinn and Taylor Beckendorf had back-to-back singles. Anna Stangl, Grace Carroll, Alikxa McGinn and Ella Richards all came in to score in the 4-run 4th inning. The Wolves added a run in the 5th, then held off the Rams who scored 3-runs in the 5th.
Alikxa McGinn continues their strong last few weeks, grabbing a pair of hits and scoring twice. The Wolves had 8 hits with Taylor Beckendorf and Hannah McKinney both driving in a pair of runs. Grace Carroll and Anna Stangl both had a hit, RBI and scored a run. Ella Richards picked up the win, going 4 1/3 innings, allowing 12 hits and 5 earned runs. Karlee Arp pitched the final 1 2/3 innings, allowing 1 hit with 2 strikeouts.
The pair of wins improves the Wolves to 4-20. They head to MVAOCOU on Wednesday to close out the regular season.
