A bad 1st inning put the Knights in a hole they weren’t able to dig out of against Emma Hoyle and the 13th ranked Greene County Rams. The Rams used 3 Kuemper errors in the 1st inning to score 5 unearned runs and led 5-0. Kuemper struggled with the bats all game with Hoyle striking out at 2 batters in all 5 innings, finishing with 10 strikeouts. Kaci Peter led off the 4th with a single and moved to 3rd on a wild pitch, then stole 3rd on the same play. She scored on a fly ball by Melinda Schaefer, cutting the deficit to 7-1. Greene County ended the game in the 5th getting a pair of walks and a single, they scored the game ending runs with the bases loaded on a slap single to shallow centerfield by Alexa Peters. The Knights were out hit 9 to 1 and had 3 errors to the Rams none.
Kaci Peter had their one hit and run scored with Melinda Schaefer had an RBI. Myli Schaefer took the loss, going 5 innings, allowing 11 runs with 6 earned and 1 strikeout.
Kuemper falls to 15-15 and will host Treynor in the first round of the Kuemper tournament on Saturday.

Carroll stranded 5-runners on base, finishing with 5 hits, falling on the road to number 1 ranked team on the road. Carlisle was steady on offense, collecting 11 hits, scoring 2-runs in the 1st and 2nd innings. It was a 4-run 4th inning that separated them from the Tigers. They were able to push a run across the plate with 2-outs in the bottom 6th to end the game. The Tigers defense struggled with the pressure the Wildcats put on teams, allowing 4 unearned runs.
Kloee Jones had a team high 2 hits while Parker Adams, Makalei Kofron and Emma Kuhlmann all had 1 hit. Camryn Schable took the loss, allowing 6 earned run in 4 2/3 innings and 11 hits.
The Tigers fall to 13-15 overall and will play Lewis Central in the opening round of the Kuemper tournament on Saturday.

The game in Irwin was a good battle between two teams in the Western Iowa Conference. IKM-Manning grabbed an early lead but the veteran Wheelers rallied back to pull out a 1-run win. The Wolves struck first, scoring 3-runs in the 3rd. Karlee Arp walked and Anna Stangl singled to put two runners on base. Alikxa McGinn put the ball in play, driving in both Arp and Stangl as the Wheelers mishandled the play. McGinn later scored on a ground out by Taylor Beckendorf. A 2-run top 4th got the Wheelers right back into the game. Alexis Obermeier hit a 1-out solo home run to get them on the board. Payton Gust reached base later in the inning on a fielder’s choice and scored on a Wolves error. Audubon tied the game in the 5th with Jordan Porsch doubling and scoring on a sac fly to right field by Kali Irlmeier. IKM-Manning went down in order in the 4th and 5th with Alexis Obermeier picking up 4 strikeouts combined. That helped Audubon grab their first lead in the 6th. Emma Brand reached on a 2-out error and Michelle Brooks singled driving in a run, putting the Wheelers up 5-4. Mattie Nielsen followed that up with a triple to score Brooks. That run would be important. Taylor Beckendorf reached on a Wheelers error with 1-out in the bottom 6th. Alexis Gruhn doubled to drive her in and IKM-Manning was down 1 going to the 7th. Audubon stranded runners on 1st and 2nd in the top half of the inning, giving IKM-Manning a chance. Alexis Obermeier struck out the first two batters she faced in the bottom half, then induced a line out to first base to end the game.
Alexis Obermeier earned the win for the Wheelers with 5 hits and 0 earned runs with 13 strikeouts in 7 innings. She added a solo home run at the plate. Jordan Porsch and Kali Irlmeier both had a pair of hits with Porsch doubling and scoring while Irlmeier had an RBI. Mattie Nielsen tripled driving in a run and Michelle Brooks had an RBI and scored once.
Alexis Gruhn and Ella Richards both doubled for IKM-Manning while Alikxa McGinn, Anna Stangl, Taylor Beckendorf an Grace Carroll all singled. Stangl, McGinn, Beckendorf and Karlee Arp all scored and Beckendorf added a pair of RBI. Karlee Arp continues to grow in the circle, going 7 innings, allowing 8 hits and 2 earned runs with 3 strikeouts.
Audubon improves to 12-7. The Wheelers hots Tri Center on Friday. IKM-Manning falls to 2-19 and will host AHSTW on Friday.

Ar-We-Va won their second straight and third in their last four games, getting 1o-runs in the 1st inning to cruise to a 3 inning win at home on Thursday. They collected only 4-hits but took advantage of 9 walks by Bulldog pitching and 2 hit-by-pitch to keep the runs going. Amber Ragaller was outstanding in the circle, allowing 2 hits with no walks and four of the nine outs coming via strikeout.
Jamie Hausman, Emma Leiting, Maggie Ragaller and Jazmine Molina all had a base hit with Hausman, Leiting and Ragaller all scoring twice and Molina scoring once. Hausman, Delaney Schurke and Molina all had an RBI. Maggie Ragaller added 4 stolen bases in 4 attempts. Morgan Berg and Sarah Melton both walked twice.
The Rockets improve to 5-9 and will head to West Harrison on Monday.
