Carroll suffered another road loss in the Racoon River Conference to a tough Carlisle team. The Tiger’s lone run came in the top of the second inning on an RBI ground out by Jake Jorgensen. Four Carroll errors lead to five unearned runs for Carlisle. The game was close in the top of the second, with Carlisle leading 2-1. The Wildcats dropped the game open, scoring nine unanswered runs the rest of the game to win 11-1 over Carroll.

The Tigers recorded four hits in the game, leaving six runners on base. Carroll’s hits came from Carter Essick, Ryan North, Tate Schleisman, and Stone Sibenaller. Sibenaller and Jackson Gross combined to go four innings on the mound giving up six earned runs on 11 hits and walking three Carlisle hitters. The loss drops the Tigers to 3-18 and 1-12 in conference play. Carroll is back in action on Friday at Greene County.

Boyer Valley at Ar-We-Va

Ar-We-Va played well in a blowout loss to Boyer Valley at home Thursday night. Nine of Boyer Valley’s runs came between two different innings. Boyer Valley scored the game’s first run, plating a run in the top of the first off of two hits. The Rockets were able to tie the game up in the home half when Wyatt Ragaller led off with a triple and later scored on an RBI ground out by Wade Ragaller. Boyer Valley regained the lead by scoring four runs in the top of the second inning off of three hits and an Ar-We-Va error. Both teams pitching took over, and the score stayed the same at 5-1 going to the bottom of the sixth inning. In the home half of the sixth, the Rockets were able to cut the lead to three. Wade Ragaller reached on a fielders choice in the sixth, then advanced to second on a wild pitch. The catcher threw the ball to the second, attempting to throw out Ragaller, and sailed the ball into center field. After the ball ended up in center, Ragaller advanced to third, and another overthrow by the centerfielder allowed Ragaller to score, making it 5-2 in favor of Boyer Valley. Boyer Valley responded in the top of the seventh inning by plating five runs on five hits to take a 10-2 lead. The Rockets got a runner on base in the bottom of the seventh inning but did not score and lost 10-2 to Boyer Valley.

Ar-We-Va recorded three hits in the game coming off the bats of Wyatt Ragaller, Wade Ragaller, and Devon Ehlers. Wyatt went 5 1/3 innings on the mound and struck out five Boyer Valley hitters. The Rockets committed eight errors in the game, which led to four unearned runs. The loss drops Ar-We-Va to 0-12 on the season and 0-12 in Rolling Valley play. The Rockets are back in action on Monday against West Harrison.

IKM-Manning led for most of the game before Audubon came back in the later part of the game. IKM-Manning struck first by plating three runs in the home half of the first inning. The Wolves added another run in the second inning and took a 3-0 lead going to the third inning. Audubon cut into the IKM-Manning lead by plating three runs in the top of the third inning. The Wolves responded with another run in the bottom of the third inning to take a 5-3 lead going to the sixth inning. The Wheelers took their first lead of the game in the top of the sixth inning by scoring four runs. Audubon would go on to win a close matchup between two area teams, 7-5.

Audubon recorded eight hits in the game. Gavin Larsen recorded multiple hits for the Wheelers. Audubon pitching combined to go seven innings giving up eight hits and striking out six IKM-Manning hitters. The Wolves were led by Ben Ramsey, who recorded three hits in the game. Wolves pitching combined to go seven innings giving up eight hits and striking out six Audubon hitters.

The win improves Audubon’s record to 5-14 and 3-12 in conference play. The loss drops IKM-Manning to 7-14 and 5-10 in conference play. The Wheelers are back in action on Friday at home against Tri-Center. IKM-Manning is back in action on Friday at home against AHSTW.
