Carroll fell to 14th ranked Storm Lake on the road, dropping their second straight after a 3 game winning streak. The game was tight until the bottom 5th when Storm Lake struck for 4-runs, stretching their lead to 5-0. All 6 of Storm Lake’s runs came in their last 3 at bats, scoring 1 in the 4th and 6th to go with 5th inning. The Tigers finished the game with 6 hits and 1 double. Storm Lake didn’t hurt themselves with walks or errors and Carroll wasn’t able to stretch hits together.
Emma Kuhlmann had the Tigers double while Parker Adams, Kloee Jones, Malalei Kofron, Ava Gross and Olivia Rowedder all singled. Averi Burke suffered the loss, going 4 2/3 innings, alllowing 9 hits and 3 earned runs.
The loss drops Carroll to 11-10 overall. They get back into Raccoon River Conference action on Wednesday, hosting Gilbert.

Kuemper started the varsity doubleheader with a big win against the Titans, who entered the game in 1st place in the Hawkeye 10. Lewis Central threatened in the 1st inning, getting a pair of runners on base but Myli Schaefer struck out the final two batters with runners on 1st and 2nd. Kuemper struck in their half of the 1st. Kaci Peter singled and stole 2nd base. She scored on a ground out by Kaylie Diercksen. The Knights kept the pressure on in the 2nd with Alexis Diercksen doubling and scoring on a single by Kaylie Wolterman. Kuemper extended the lead in the 4th with 3-runs. Ellie Sibbel and Myli Schaefer both walked to start the inning. Charlotte Schwabe reached on a fielders choice, leaving Schaefer and Schwabe on base. Alexis Diercksen loaded the bases with a single. Kaylie Wolterman picked up her second RBI with a sac fly and Ally Sommerfeld drove in a run, reaching on an error. Alexis Diercksen wrapped up the Knights scoring, getting home on an error. Lewis Central got on the board in the 5th but the Knights scored again in the bottom half with Allison Ostrander walking and scoring on a Myli Schaefer single.
Alexis Diercksen had a pair of hits, including a double and scored twice. Kaylie Wolterman drove in a pair of runs with a base hit. Kaci Peter and Myli Schaefer both had base hits. Schaefer earned the win, going all 7 innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 earned runs with 7 strikeouts.

Similar to the opening game the Knights took an early lead, scoring in the 1st inning. After getting the Titans in order in the top 1st, Kaci Peter reached on a bunt single to lead off the Knights half. She advanced to 3rd on a throwing error and scored on a ground out by Kaylie Diercksen. A 2-run home run put Lewis Central up in the 2nd inning but Kuemper tied it in the bottom 2nd. Alexis Diercksen reached on a fielders choice, moved into scoring position on a single by Kaylie Wolterman and scored on a single by Charlotte Schwabe. A Kaylie Diercksen double with 1 out in the 3rd helped the Knights take the lead for good. Myli Schaefer grounded out two batters later, scoring Diercksen and Kuemper led 3-2. The 5th inning was big for Kuemper, stretching the lead with 3-runs. Allison Ostrander reached on an error and scored on a single by Ellie Sibbel. Myli Schaefer doubled, putting runners on 2nd and 3rd. Sibbel and Schaefer both scored on a single by Alexis Diercksen. Kuemper added a pair of runs on single by Allison Ostrander and a double from Kaylie Diercksen. Ellie Sibbel drove in the second run on a ground out. Lewis Central scored a run in the top of the 7th.

Glidden Ralston kept battling, rallying back twice. They tied the game in the 2nd inning after falling down quick, then had to recover from a 6-run deficit to win it in the bottom of the 7th. Vanessa Koehler led off the 7th with a bunt single, reaching 2nd base as the throw went into right field. After an intentional walk to Tiela Janssen, the Cougars recovered to get a couple outs. That brought up Ashlynn Tigges, who sent the ball back up the middle for a base hit to centerfield, scoring Koehler with the game winner. The rally started for the Wildcats in the bottom 6th. After falling behind 9-5 with the Cougars scoring 5-runs in the 4th. The Wildcats recovered with a 4-run 6th, tying the game, setting up the exciting finish. Glidden Ralston put together 18 hits, including 3 doubles while allowing 10 hits.
Vanessa Koehler led the Wildcats with 4 hits and 3 runs scored. She had a double and an RBI. Koehler earned the win, allowing 10 hits over 7 innings with 5 earned runs and 3 strikeouts. Ashlynn Tigges, Tiela Janssen and Brileigh Bock all had 3 hits with Bock having a double and 3 RBI. Tigges added a pair of RBI and Janssen doubled, scoring once and driving in a run. Jaelyn Subbert added a pair of hits. Kassidy Wenck scored twice.
The Wildcats improve to 8-5 overall and will host Boyer Valley on Wednesday.

East Sac dropped their fifth straight and second game to MVAOCOU in the last five days. The Rams scored 9-runs in the 1st inning to take control of the game immediately. East Sac responded with a run in the 3rd. Mary Bontrager walked and scored on a base hit by Kami Ross. The Raiders added 2 more runs in the 5th with Maci Gustavson getting hit-by-pitch, Kami Ross walked and Jen Aschinger singled to score Addisen Ehler, who was running for Gustavson. Ross scored later in the inning on a single by Makenna Steiger. MVAOCOU responded with 2-runs in the bottom 5th to end the game.
Jen Aschinger went 1-2 with an RBI and Mary Bontrager was 1-2, scoring once. Emersyn Mack, Kami Ross, Makenna Steiger, Jamie Pierce and Gracie Snyder all had base hits with Ross driving in a run and scoring once.
The loss drops the Raiders to 5-8. They look to bounce back at home on Wednesday against SE Valley.

Audubon fell in a pitchers dual on the road Tuesday as Alexis Obermeier allowed 3 hits but Treynor was able to score late to win. Audubon only had 4 hits, scoring just a pair of runs. Treynor used a walk and a wild pitch to score in the 1st. The game stayed that way until the 4th when Audubon tied the game. Kylee Hartl singled, followed by a single from Alexis Obermeier. Addie Hocker singled to score Hartl, tying the game. The Wheelers grabbed a 2-1 lead in the 5th when Anna Larsen singled and scored on a single by Jordan Porsch. Treynor responded with a run in the 5th, then scored 2 in the 6th. The Wheelers went down in order in the 7th.
Jordan Porsch and Addie Hocker both had a hit with an RBI while Kylee Hartl singled and scored. Alexis Obermeier singled. Obermeier pitched well in the loss, going 6 innings, allowing 3 hits and 4 earned runs with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.
The Wheelers fell to 8-5, dropping their second in a row. They host Underwood on Thursday.

The Wolves struck first in the 3rd inning, Alexi Gruhn doubled and Grace Carroll reached on a sacrifice. Anna Stangl kept the string going with a hit-by-pitch and Ella Richards also reached on a sacrifice. Alikxa McGinn hit into a fielders choice, scoring a run. Gruhn, Carroll, Stangl and Ricahrds all scored in the inning. Tri Center answered with 4-runs in the bottom half of the 3rd, tying the game. Taylor Beckendorf singled and Lexi Gruhn hit a 2-run home run in the 4th, putting the Wolves back up by 2 but Tri Center took the lead for good with 4-runs in the bottom 4th.
Alexis Gruhn had a pair of hits for the Wolves, including a 2-run home run. She scored twice and had 2 RBI. Brooke Booth doubled and drove in a run while Taylor Beckendofr and Grace Carroll both singled and scored. They combined for 5 stolen bases.
