The Carroll Tigers dropped a close conference matchup at home Monday night against the ninth-ranked team in Class 3A. Boone scored the first run of the game in the top of the second and led 1-0 heading to the fourth. Boone would add to their lead in the fourth and fifth to take a 3-0 lead going to the home half of the fifth inning. Carroll would score a run on an RBI fielders choice by Stone Sibenaller. The Tigers would score again in the fifth when Sibenaller stole second, causing the Boone Cathcer to throw to second, and Bryton Treadway broke for home on a double steal making the score 3-2.

Boone added a run in the top of the sixth to make it 4-2. Boone would hold Carroll scoreless the rest of the game and won 4-2. The Tigers had four hits in the game stranding six runners on the bases. Carroll committed three errors leading to two unearned runs. Dreylan Schweitzer was fantastic on the hill going seven innings and striking out six Boone hits. The loss drops the Tigers to 1-8 on the season and 0-6 in conference play. Carroll is back in action Thursday as they host Ballard.

The Kuemper Catholic Knights dropped an extra-inning thriller to Harlan Monday in an early afternoon game. Harlan scored first with one run crossing the plate in the top of the first. Kuemper responded in the home half plating two runs to take a 2-1 lead to the second inning. Harlan would put a two spot on the board to take a 3-2 lead in the top of the third, and the score would stay the same going into the home half of the seventh inning. The Knights responded late in the game again, scoring one run to send the game to extra innings tied at three. The score stayed tied at 3-3 until Harlan plated five runs at the top of the tenth inning. Kuemper was able to push one run across in the home half of the tenth but lost the game 8-4 in ten innings.

Ethan Loew pitched seven strong innings striking out three and only walking two Harlan batters. Logan Sibenaller took over in extra innings on the mound for Kuemper, throwing a scoreless eight and ninth but gave up five earned runs in the tenth. Seven different Kuemper players recorded a hit in the game, and the Knights had eight total in the game. The loss drops the Knights’ record to 7-3 on the season. Kuemper is back in action Tuesday on the road against St. Albert in a varsity doubleheader.

The Raiders played their best game of the season in a close loss at Pocahontas Monday night. Five different ESC hitters had multiple hit games. Pocahontas scored the game’s first run in the bottom of the third inning, and the Raiders answered with a run of their own in the top of the fourth. ESC scored four runs in the top half of the fifth inning, taking a 5-1 lead. The lead wouldn’t last long as the Raiders gave up five runs in the home half of the fifth. Neither team would score the rest of the game, and Pocahontas went on to win 6-5.

ESC has 11 hits in the game scoring five runs. Five different ESC batters have tallied two hits in the game. The Raiders used three different pitchers in the game, and ESC pitching struck out five Pocahontas batters. The loss drops the Raiders to 0-7 on the season. ESC is back in action on Wednesday at home against GTRA.

The Titans totaled eight hits in the game at home against Manson-NW Webster. Despite the blow, the game went all seven innings. Manson scored eight runs in the second inning. The Titans held the Cougars scoreless until the top of the seventh, when they scored nine runs to lead 17-0. Seven SCC hitters record a hit in Monday night’s game. The Titans used four different pitchers, striking out 12 Manson batters.

Andrew Anderson records two hits in the game. SCC is back in action Wednesday on the road against West Bend-Mallard.

The Ar-We-Va Rockets struggled in all facets of the game Monday night at home against a good West Harrison team. Ar-We-Va was held to only one hit in the game and made seven errors on defense. The lone hit came from Blayne Smith. The Rockets used two pitchers in the game, giving up seven hits at 12 earned runs. West Harrison scored seven runs in the first inning, five in the second, one in the third, and two in the fourth to win 15-0 in four innings.

The loss drops Ar-We-Va to 0-5 on the season and 0-5 in conference play. The Rockets travel to Boyer Valley on Friday.

Coon Rapids-Bayard shined at the plate in Monday night’s game against CAM, scoring ten runs off six hits and walking seven times. The Crusaders scored in the third inning, plating two runs. CRB added a run each in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 4-0 lead into the sixth inning. CRB poured on six runs in the home half of the sixth to win by run rule in six innings.

The Crusaders were led by Cal Heydon, who had five RBIs and pitched five-plus innings striking out nine. Three other CRB hitters recorded a hit in the game. The Crusaders are back in action Tuesday at home against Stanton.

The Wheelers have droped eight straight game following Monday nights loss at home. Dispite the loss Audubon found success at the plate recond seven hits in the ball game. Logan-Magnolia scored right away in the top of the first inning and added three more in the second to take a 4-0 lead. The Wheelers cut into the Panthers lead by scoreing there only run of the game in the botton of the third. Logan-Magnolia would add two runs in the fourth and another run in sixth to lead 7-1. The Wheelers would not score in the last two innings and Logan-Magnolia would win 7-1.

Evan Alt and Brody Schultes each recorded two hits in the game. The Wheelers comitted five erros in Mondays contest. Schultes pitched three innings striking out four Panther hitters. The loss drops Audubon to 2-8 on the season and 0-5 in conference play. The Wheelers are back in action on Tuesday at home against IKM-Manning.

IKM-Manning never gave up in a game that was closer than the score indicated. Treynor scored three runs in the top of the first inning. The Wolves managed to hold them scoreless till the top of the fifth when Treynor extended their lead to 4-0. IKM-Manning would add a pair of runs in the home half of the sixth inning to cut into the Treynor lead and make the score 4-2. Treynor would blow the game open in the top of the seventh, scoring eight runs to lead 12-2 going to the bottom. The Wolves never gave up, despite a ten-run deficit scoring four runs in the bottom of the seven, and would lose 12-6.

Bryc Summerfield pitched four strong innings, only walking three and giving up four earned runs. Summerfield also added two hits at the plate for the Wolves. IKM-Manning recorded six hits in the game and scored six runs off them. The Wolves are back in action Tuesday on the road against Audubon.
