Alta-Aurelia At East Sac Softball

Alta-Aurelia batted around the order, sending 11 girls to the plate in the 1st inning, building a 5-0 lead. They added 5-runs in the 5th inning, ending the game in 5. East Sac scored once in the 4th inning when Mary Bontrager tripled and Maci Gustavson doubled.

 The Raiders finished with 3 hits with Bontrager picking up a single in the 5th inning. The loss drops the Raiders to 2-2. They head to Cherokee on Saturday morning.

The game went through a delay due to storms and rain in the area. The Titans finished the night with one hit, falling in 5 innings as the Rebels scored 5-runs in the 3rd inning to open what had been a tight game. They collected 14 hits and used a couple defensive miscues to bat 10 hitters in the 3rd. Onna Haupert singled in the 5th and Haylee Wiederin stole 2nd base as a courtesy runner. Jayci Graeve added a walk.

The loss drops the Titans to  0-7 as they will host Manson NW Webster on Monday.

Coon Rapids-Bayard At Woodbine

The Crusaders only played six innings of the game due to multiple stoppages of play due to the weather. CRB struggled at the plate, only getting two hits and striking out 16 times. The Crusaders scored their only run of the game in the first inning and were able to hold off Woodbine in the home half. Woodbine came to bat in the bottom of the second, plated six runs, and was on cruise control for the rest of the game. The Tigers added two more in the fourth and won 8-1 in six innings.

Anna Hart had a good game on the hill, pitching three-plus innings and striking out six. The lone CRB hits came from Hart and Breeley Clayburg. The loss drops the Crusaders to 1-4 on the season. CRB is back in action Saturday as they play Eagle Grove in the Wildcat Classic.

Glidden-Ralston at CAM

Glidden-Ralston’s bats were on fire Friday night, scoring eight runs on 15 hits. The Wildcats trailed for most of the game as CAM led 3-2 going to the top of the fifth. The bats started to heat up in the fifth inning as they plated six runs to lead 8-3. Wildcat pitching shut down CAM for the rest of the game to go on and win 8-3.

Three different players for Glidden-Ralston had three hits in the game.

The team totaled 15 hits in the game, and six went for extra bases. Elizabeth Lloyd went 3-4 in the game with two doubles. 

Vanessa Koehler went the distance in the circle, pitching seven innings and striking out double-digit batters. The win improved Glidden-Ralston’s record to 6-1 on the young season. The Wildcats are back in action Tuesday in a good match-up on the road against Woodbine.

Audubon at Missouri Valley

Audubon hits struggled at the plate Friday night, only totaling three hits and striking out 14 times. Missouri Valley scored the first run of the game in the home half of the second to lead 1-0. Both teams played good defense as the score stayed 1-0, going to the bottom of the fifth. Missouri Valley would plate two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings to win the game 5-0 over Audubon.

All of the Wheeler’s hits came from one girl, Jordan Porsche, who went 3-3 with two doubles. Alexis Obermeier continued her hot start in the circle, pitching six innings and striking out five. The loss drops the Wheelers to 5-2 on the season. Audubon is back in action on Monday when they host Logan-Magnolia.
