Glidden-Ralston pitched well for two innings before giving up 16 runs in the bottom of the third inning at West Harrison Tuesday night. Ninth-ranked West Harrison opened the game, scoring one run each in the first and second innings. The Hawkeye’s bats came to life in the third inning as they poured on 16 runs to win 18-0 in three innings. Ethan Olberding pitched two innings giving up eight earned runs, walking six, and striking out three. Freshman Alex Daniel picked up the loan hit in the game for the Wildcats as he went 1-2.
The loss drops Glidden-Ralston to 3-4 on the season. The Wildcats are back in action Wednesday to host Exira -EHK.

The Wheelers traveled to Underwood Tuesday night and played in a tight game through five innings. Audubon started the game off by scoring two runs in the first inning. The Wheelers led 2-0 going into the home half of the fourth before Underwood plated four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Audubon would respond with a two-run top of the fifth. Underwoods’ home half of the fifth is where things would unravel as they scored seven runs to lead 11-4 going to the sixth. Neither team would score the rest of the game, and Underwood would win the conference matchup 11-4.
The wheelers would tally a total of seven hits in the game, with Gavin Larsen and Carson Wessel having two hits each. Carson Meaike pitched four strong innings giving up five earned runs and striking out three. Audubon is next in action on Thursday when they head to Coon-Rapids Bayard to take on the Crusaders.

IKM-Manning picked up their first win on the season in an extra-inning pitching duel at Missouri Valley. The Wolves had great defense and outstanding pitching, winning 2-0 in eight innings on the road against Missouri Valley. Missouri Valley had a chance to score the first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth with a bases load before a wild pitch that hit the backstop led to a runner being tagged out at home to end the inning. In the sixth, Missouri Valley threatened again with a runner on first and third with one out, and Ben Ramsey would turn a double play to get the Wolves out of the inning.
IKM-Manning picked up their first hit of the ball game in the top of the eight when Bryc Summerfield singled and then stole second base. In the next at-bat, Jace Starman hit the ball to the left-center for a double, which brought in Summerfield for the first run of the ball game. Lane Sams bunted up the first base line in the same inning and stole second and third. Reed Hinners laid down a squeeze bunt scoring Sams to make it 2-0 IKM- Manning. Hinners was lights out on the mound going 7 2/3 innings, striking out six. The Wolves are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Stanton for a varsity doubleheader.
