Coon Rapids Bayard remains undefeated, rallying from down 6-0 to send Kuemper to their second straight loss. The Knights jumped out quickly, scoring 4-runs in the 2nd inning, highlighted by an 2 RBI single by Koby Lampman. Kuemper used 4 walks and 2 errors to their advantage. A walk and error to start the 3rd inning, helped the Knights score a pair of runs. Evan Loew doubled to put the Knights on top 6-0. A solo home run by Lance Clayburg in the bottom 3rd helped spark the Crusaders. Clayburg came in to pitch in the top of the inning, closing the door on the Knights, keeping the Crusaders within striking distance. They rally got rolling in the 5th when they batted around the lineup. Wyatt Oswald reached on an error, Kolby Culbertson walked and Cal Heydon doubled to drive in a pair of runs. Heydon scored the third run of the inning when Jacob Estrada walked. The Crusaders ended the inning with the bases loaded but had cut the deficit to 6-4. Wyatt Oswald started the 6th inning with a single, followed by walks to Kolby Culbertson and Lance Clayburg, loading the bases. Parker Hays singled to right, driving in the tying run. He moved to 2nd on the throw home. Lance Clayburg had moved to 3rd on the Hays hit and put the Crusaders ahead on a wild pitch. Hays increased the lead to 2-runs, scoring on a wild pitch. Cade Behrens sac fly drove in Jace Baker, who was running for Jacob Estrada, who had walked. The 5-run 6th put the Crusaders up 9-6.  Lance Clayburg got the Knights in order in the 7th and Coon Rapids Bayard had completed the rally.

Lance Clayburg paced the Crusaders, going 1-1 with a solo home run and 3 walks. He also picked up the win, going 4 2/3 innings, allowing 2 hits while striking in 7. Cal Heydon went 2-4, with a double and 2 RBI. Parker Hays had a hit and 2 RBI and Wyatt Oswald and Kolby Culbertson both scored twice.

Koby Lampman went 2-4 for Kuemper with 2 RBI. Josh Langel went 2-4 and Evan Loew went 1-3 with a double and 2 RBI. Ethan Loew pitched 5 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs with 6 k’s.

The Crusaders move to 5-0 and will host Boyer Valley on Friday. Kuemper drops to 4-2 and will host Woodbury Central on Friday.

Carroll pushed one of the top programs in the Raccoon River Conference, leading 1-0 into the top of the 6th inning. They tied the game at 2 in the bottom of the 6th. North Polk took control of the game with 5-runs in the top of the 7th. Dreylen Schweitzer was dominant on the hill. He threw a no-hitter through 4 1/3 innings. Carroll scored first, getting a run in the top 1st inning, when Stone Sibenaller scored on a wild pitch. They didn’t score again until the 6th, when Tate Schleisman drove in a run, tying the game at 2. Chase Ragaller drove in the Tigers final run on a ground out in the bottom 7th inning.

Dreylen Schweitzer had a no-hitter into the 5th inning, finishing with 6 2/3 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 earned runs with 5 walks. Tate Schleisman had a pair of hits and an RBI while Ryan North added 2 hits. Schleisman and Chase Ragaller both drove in a run while Stone Sibenaller, Bryton Treadway and Jake Jorgesen all scored a run.

The Tigers fall to 0-4 and will head to Woodward Granger on Friday.

A six run 2nd inning gave Cherokee a lead they wouldn’t relinquish, though the Raiders tried to rally back with 2-runs in both the 6th and 7th innings. The Raiders had four players get a hit and two finish with RBI. Cherokee had 8 hits.

Karter Ludwig had a single, driving in a pair of runs, Bradyn Burns had a hit and scored twice and Ryan Zimmerman added a hit, scoring twice. Luke Wright had their other hit, driving in a run.

The Raiders fall to 0-3 and will head to Manson NW Webster on 93.7 KKRL on Friday.

South Central Calhoun held a lead until SE Valley scored 6-runs in the top of the 4th inning. The Titans took the lead with a 4-run 2nd inning. The Jaguars had scored a pair of runs in the 2nd, adding another run in the 3rd. The Titans tried to rally with 3 more runs in the 5th inning, cutting the deficit to 9-7. The Titans were held to 6 hits, allowing 10 hits.

The Titans had six different players with a hit. Andrew Anderson, Brock Nattress, Charlie Nattress, Brendan Stone, Caleb Gaffney and Keegan Soard all had singles. Nattress had a pair of RBI.

The Titans fall to 0-3 and wrap up the week with a home game on Friday against Pocahontas Area.

Audubon scored in four of the five innings but so did Riverside. The Bulldogs pushed 4-runs across the plate in the 1st inning, then scored 7 in the 3rd, 6 in the 4th inning and 3 more in the 5th inning. The Wheelers scored a run in the 1st and 2nd inning, then had 3 in the 3rd with 5 more in the 5th inning. Audubon struggled on defense, making 11 errors.

Evan Alt and Brody Schultes each had 2 hits with both doubling and driving in a run. Schultes scored 3 times and Alt scored twice. Gavin Larsen added a double and RBI and Cooper Nielsen doubled and drove in a run.

The loss drops Audubon to 2-3 overall. They host Treynor on Friday.

IKM-Manning nearly rallied from down 3-0 early but fell short, falling by 2 on the road. The loss drops them to 0-3. The Bulldogs scored 3 times in the 2nd inning, they added a run in the 4th. The Wolves began to claw back in the 5th inning with a pair of runs, then added a run in the 6th.

Ben Ramsey, Zander Richards, Bryc Summerfield and Miles Nuzback all had hits for the Wolves. Ramsey had an RBI while Richards, Jack Sanford and Ross Kusel scored. Reed Hinners pitched 6 innings, allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs.

The Wolves are back in action on Friday, hosting Tri Center.
