Baseball Results Tuesday, May 23rd

Carroll falls to 0-2 as Denison Schleswig uses a 6-run 7th inning to pull away in what was a tight game. The Tigers trimmed a 3-0 lead to 3-1 on an RBI groundout from Ryan North in the 4th inning, but stranded too many runners on base, leaving 7 on in the first-three innings combined. The Monarch’s struck early, scoring 3 in the top 1st. They threatened to stretch the lead over the next three innings, but Carroll held firm, forcing them to leave 2-runners on base in the 2nd through 4th innings. Chase Ragaller pitched well with guys on base and Stone Sibenaller, who replaced Ragaller in the 4th was in control into the 7th inning. Denison Schleswig led off the 7th with a pair of  hits, then used a walk and a hit-by-pitch to load the bases. Ryan Slechta, Cale Kastner and Lance Arkfeld all had an RBI, then Jake Fink drove in a pair and the Monarchs led 9-1. Carroll put one on base in the bottom 7th when Chase Ragaller was hit-by-pitch.

Mason Vought led the Tigers with 2  hits and scored their lone run. Stone Sibenaller and Chase Ragaller had the Tigers other two hits. Sibenaller pitched 3+ innings, allowing 2 hits and 4 earned run.

The Tigers head to ADM on Wednesday.

Kuemper rallied for a big win on the road, falling behind 5-0 when Treynor scored 3-runs in the bottom 3rd. Kuemper responded with 4-runs in the top 4th, getting a leadoff double from Logan Sibenaller, Trevor Rial singled to drive in a run and Koby Lampman reached on an error before Josh Langel doubled, driving in two. A Cooper Pottebaum double ended the Knights scoring, but they cut the deficit to 5-4. Rial started the rally in the 6th inning, singling, then scoring on a single by Koby Lampman. Lampman scored the eventual game winner, off a single by Cooper Pottebaum. Treynor moved the tying run to 2nd base in the 7th but Logan Sibenaller shut the door, stranding a guy at 1st.

Cooper Pottebaum led the Knights offensive attack, with 3 hits, a double and 2 RBI. Trevor Rial and Koby Lampman both had a pair of hits, an RBI and scored twice. Sibenaller went all 7 innings, allowing 4 hits and 5 earned runs.

The Knights move to 4-0 on the season and will host Tri Center on Wednesday.

East Sac garnered a pair of hits with Karter Ludwig and Carter Erritt each connecting for one. They hosted a strong Humboldt team that dropped them to 0-2 on the season, winning in 5 innings, 13-1. Weston Drost went 3 innings for the Raiders, allowing 7 hits and 4 earned runs. Luke Wright and Bradyn Burns both saw action on the hill with Wright going 1 1.3 innings, allowing 2 earned runs with 4 strikeouts.

The Raiders will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to Cherokee.

Audubon played good defense but had one bad inning as ASHTW scored all 5-runs in the bottom 6th. The Wheelers offense struggled, getting no-hit but managing to get five baserunners with Carson Meaike, Evan Alt (2), Colton Hansen, Carson Wessel and Ely Jorgensen all walking. Alt stole a pair of bases. Carson Meaike pitched a complete game, allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs with 3 strikeouts.

The Wheelers slip to 2-2 overall and will travel to Riverside on Thursday.

IKM-Manning played well on defense, committing just one error but the Underwood bats came alive late in the game, combing to score 8-runs in the 5th and 6th innings. Ross Kusel made several nice plays in centerfield. Reed  Hinners also had a nice game, throwing out a runner at the plate in the 2nd inning. The Wolves trailed 4-0, going into the 5th before Underwood opened it up with 3-runs, then added 5 more in the 6th. Ben Ramsey had the Wolves lone hit.

IKM-Manning slips to 0-2 and will head to Stanton on Wednesday.
