Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Four Area Girl Golfers Heading to State Golf After Successful Regional Meets Wednesday

Girls Regional Golf Results for Wednesday, May 17th 

Class 1A Region 1

IKM-Manning and Addy Boell of Glidden Ralston and Kali Irlmeier of Audubon At Crestwood Hills At CAM Anita 

All three of the Carroll Broadcasting area teams at CAM Anita’s regional golf meet had golfers qualify for state golf Wednesday. IKM-Manning was the only area team to have a full team competing and finished fourth overall with a score of 399. Sidney and Alta-Aurelia were the state qualifying teams from this meet with scores of 378 and 381 respectively. 

IKM-Manning’s Kylie Powers had a great finish at this meet, finishing third overall with a score of 86. For the remainder of the IKM-Manning golfers Maeve Nielsen scored a 102, Megan Williams had a score of 104, and Ella Richards finished with a score of 107 to round out the top golfers. 

Glidden Ralston’s Addy Boell was next, finishing fourth overall with a score of 91 overall. Audubon’s Kali Irlmeier was the third and final area golfer heading to state with a sixth overall finish with a score of 94 overall.

Class 2A Region 2

Kuemper at Carroll Muni

The Kuemper Knights were in familiar territory Wednesday afternoon for their regional meet to fight for a chance to go to state. Despite a solid effort, the Knights finished third overall with a score of 387. Roland Story and Van Meter were able to qualify for state with first and second place finishes respectively with scores of 348 and 357. 

The Knights did end up sending an individual to state in Addy Beiter. She was able to finish third overall with a score of 79, behind two Roland Story golfers Brinley and Makenna Carlson. Elsa Tiefenthaler finished up a solid freshman year with a score of 89 on the day. Ella Pick was next with a score of 106 followed by Grace Tigges with a score of 113 to round out the team scoring for Kuemper. 

Beiter will golf at state on May 25th and 26th.

Class 3A Region 2

ADM, Atlantic, Ballard, Denison Schleswig, Gilbert, Glenwood, Greene County, Nevada, North Polk, Perry and Webster City At Carroll 

The Carroll Tigers competed for a ticket to go to state where they hosted a multitude of teams at Wednesday’s regional meet. The Tigers as a team finished with a score of 411 overall, good for sixth overall. Gilbert and Nevada were the two teams that qualified as a team for state with Gilbert winning the meet with a score of 321 followed by Nevada with a score of 350. 

Ashlee Danner was only a few spots shy of qualifying for state as an individual with a score of 94, good for 12th overall. Delaney Schurke finished up her season with a score of 101. Makalei Kofron was next with a score of 105 followed by Oliva Boes and Amelia Henson with similar scores of 111 to round out the scoring for the Tigers. Ella Perry finished the meet with a score of 120. Without qualifying as a team or sending any individuals to state, the Tigers’ season comes to an end.
