Kuemper rolled through the opening round at Graham Park on Saturday, winning all five matches two sets to none. Kuemper went 60-13 in games as they won three sets 6-0 and four more 6-1. Keziah Janssen was their most dominant player, not dropping a game in her match, winning 6-0. 6-0. Sophie Rohe was also impressive in the number 1 singles  match, winning 6-0, 6-1 while Kaylie Simons continues to show great skills, winning 6-1, 6-1. Brooke Rohe, another talented freshman won her opeing match 6-2, 6-1 and Sophie Tidgren picked up a hard fought 6-3, 6-4 win. The Knights advanced to play St Albert, which had topped Harlan in their match.

Brooke Rohe of Kuemper won 6-2, 6-1 over Lilly Guntren of Sergeant Bluff Luton

Kuemper had chances to advance into the regional finals and a trip to State but had the match slip away in doubles. Kuemper and St Albert battled during the regular season with Kuemper pulling out a tight win. The teams went 3-3 in singles with Brooke Rohe winning her second singles match of the day, winning 6-3 and 7-6 (7-4), Kaylie Simons, another freshman moved to 2-0 in singles with a 6-2, 6-3 win and Keziah Janssen added her second win of the day, winning 6-3, 6-1. The Knights were 7-6 in sets and went 51-55 in games in singles. It came down to doubles as expected in this matchup. The Knights went up 4-3 in matches as Sophie Rohe and Kaylie Simons won 6-2, 6-1, putting the Knights one win away from advancing. St Albert won the final two doubles matches, squeezing out a 7-5 win in the 1st set against Keziah Janssen and Julia Craig. The pair of wins moved St Albert into the matchup with Bishop Heelan on Tuesday at Graham Park. Kuemper finished 2-4 in sets and 25-28 in games in doubles.

Sophie Rohe and Kaylie Simons of Kuemper won 6-2, 6-1 over Georgie Bohnet and Lexi Narmi of St Albert

Landry Miller and Ella Narmi of St Albert won 6-2, 6-4 over Sophie Tidgren and Brooke Rohe of Kuemper

Mari Valdivia and Lily Barnes of St Albert won 7-5, 6-2 over Keziah Janssen and Julia Craig of Kuemper

 

Audubon At Bishop Heelan

No details have been released from this match but Heelan did win the first-five singles matches to knock off Audubon, ending the Wheelers season.
