Carroll played one of their best matches of the year, trailing 1-0 at half. The Tigers executed well but couldn’t find the back of the net, falling to Winterset 2-0. Kiley Riesberg was strong in the net, finishing with 25 saves. Carroll moved the ball well but took 4 shots on goal with 3 of them from Paige Pothoff and Kaisen Stypa with the other shot on goal.
The loss drops Carroll to 2-14 on the season. They travel to Atlantic on Monday.

Kuemper won for the third time this week, improving to 11-6 on the season with a shutout win over LoMa. The Knights defense was sharp, holding the Panthers to 3 shots on goal. Kuemper got goals from Brianna Wittrock, McKenna Blum, Clare Janson, Megan Kies and Ashley Foley. Lauren Boell added an assist.
The Knights travel to Tri Center for a Class 1A Region 5 game on Wednesday.
