Kuemper At Hawkeye 10 Conference
Kuemper won a pair of championships and had three other events finish in the top 5 as they scored 42 points, finishing in 8th place in Red Oak at the Hawkeye 10 Conference Meet. Ben Gerken cleared 6-04 to win the High Jump and Evan Adams claimed the title in the Discus with a 157-04. Gerken added a 5th place in the Long Jump and Adams went 5th in the Shot Put. Kuemper finished 4th in the 4×800 with Tregan Beiter, Koby Lampman, Trevor Rial and Jacob Greving.

Ar-We-Va, East Sac, Glidden Ralston, IKM-Manning, and Paton Churdan at Jim Yunek Relays at South Central Calhoun
Six of our area boys track teams, including Ar-We-Va, East Sac, Glidden Ralston, IKM-Manning, Paton Churdan, and South Central Calhoun, competed at the Jim Yunek Relays Thursday with varying success. The Wolves and Titans finished first and second respectively with IKM-Manning winning with 135.33 points and South Central Calhoun getting second with 114 points. East Sac was sixth with 59 points, followed by Glidden Ralston in eighth with 32 points and Ar-We-Va with 10 points.
For the winning team in IKM-Manning, they had six first place finishes and four second place finishes. Abe Polzien and Reed Hinners took home wins in the 800- and 1600-meter run respectively. Polzien finished with a time of 2:11.01 and Hinners took home gold with a time of 4:49.79. Polzien was also part of the winning 4X800 relay team, along with Reed Hinners, Hunter Smith, and Ben Ramsey, who won with a time of 8:38.25. Ross Kusel and Cooper Irlmeier both came away with top finishes in the field events. Kusel got second-place in the high jump in a three-way tie with a best jump of 6-00.00 and Irlmeier was second in the long jump with a best jump of 19-09.75.
The Wolves were also able to win the 4X200, 4X400, and distance medley relay events. In the 4X200, Jase Lueth, Irlmeier, Eli Dreyer, and Kusel won with a time of 1:33.91. The 4X400 relay team, composed of Smith, Dreyer, Irlmeier, and Kusel, were able to win the event with a time of 3:38.93. In the last winning relay, Dreyer, Kusel, Smith, and Hinners won with a time of 3:48.13 in the distance medley relay. IKM-Manning’s shuttle hurdle and 4X100 relays were able to get second-place on the day. In the shuttle hurdle, Will Fara, Justin Segebart, Ashton Ahrenholtz, and Max Butler had a time of 1:11.42 while in the 4X100, Lueth, Dreyer, Irlmeier, and Davis Rasmussen finished the event with a time of 45.40.
South Central Calhoun’s team was able to finish their home meet with eight top three finishes. Brock Nattress had the most impressive individual night among the Titans with four top finishes overall. He was part of the winning sprint medley relay team along with Zakiah Pettigrew, Christian Hansman, and Keegan Soard who won with a time of 1:39.49, finished second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.36, third in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.25, and along with Soard, Pettigrew, and Hansman, finished third overall in the 4X100 relay with a time of 45.61. Andrew Anderson, Pettigrew, Kolin Folsom, and Jordan Moreno were able to finish third in the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:12.46. Other top individual finishes for the Titans includes Wyatt Mernka in the discus with a third place finish with a best throw of 122-03, Tristan Blair in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:22.16, and Pettigrew who took home the second first-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a winning time of 15.55.
The East Sac Raiders had seven top five finishes overall at the Jim Yunek relays. Landon Sporrer was able to finish well in the distance events. He was able to win the 3200-meter relays with a time of 11:03.38 and was fourth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:59.23. The other top finish individually for the Raiders was Garret Ortner who won the 400-meter hurdles with a winning time of 58.14, tying the school record. As for the relays, East Sac finished high in the 4X100, 4X200, 4X800, and sprint medley relays. Landon Grindle, Jack Gullett, Asher Lawler, and Logan Schroeder finished fifth in the 4X100 with a time of 47.26 and third in the 4X200 with a time of 1:39.17. Wyatt Smith, Cauy Hugeback, Gullett, and Ortner were able to finish fifth overall in the 4X800 with a time of 9:59.77. Finally, the sprint medley relay team, composed of Grindle, Lawler, Schroeder, and Trace Kraus, finished second overall with a final time of 1:40.27.
Glidden Ralston’s Emmett Snyder took home the Wildcats’ top finish as he won the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.41. He also finished seventh in the long jump with a best jump of 17-04.00 and was part of the sprint medley relay team, along with Perry Armstrong, Landon Rohrbeck, and Lucas Christian, who finished fifth overall with a time of 1:45.61. Joe Thelin finished seventh in both the 1600- and 3200-meter relays, finishing with a time of 5:24.48 and 12:15.03 respectively. Wade Hunter had a top finish in the field events for Glidden Ralston, finishing sixth overall in the shot put with a best throw of 40-10.50.
The Ar-We-Va Rockets had two top finishes on the day. Blayne Smith was able to finish fourth overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.71. The sprint medley relay team, composed of Johnathan Riesselman, Weston Toft, Devon Ehlers, and Blayne Smith, finished fourth overall with a time of 1:45.31.

Audubon and Coon Rapids Bayard At Panorama
Audubon and Coon Rapids Bayard combined to win six of the nineteen events on Thursday in Panorama with the Crusaders claiming four champions and Audubon a pair. The Wheelers added two more 2nd place and 3rd places finishes to score 72 points, finishing in 5th place. The Crusaders had a 3rd place finish, scored 63 points, ending up in 7th place.
Kolby Culbertson won the 200 Meters for the Crusaders in 23.24, Cal Heydon added a title in the 110 Hurdles in 16.35 and Lance Clayburg won the Discus with a 140-10. The Crusaders also won the Shuttle Hurdle in 1:05.23 with Cal Heydon, Lucas Obert, Parker Hays and Johnny Cortez. Kolby Culbertson added a 3rd in the High Jump.
Aaron Olsen won another 100 Meters for Audubon, running a 11.56. Zeke Konkler continues running strong, winning the 800 Meters in 2:04.46. The Wheelers nabbed 2nd place in the 4×400 with Zeke Konkler, Brody Schultes, Mason Steckler and Dakota McCrainie with Schultes taking 2nd in the 400 Meters. The Distance medley team took 3rd with Dakota McCrainie, Manny Beissswenger, Aaron Olsen and Zeke Konkler and the Sprint Medley was 3rd with Dakota McCrainie, Manny Beisswenger, Aaron Olsen and Zeke Konkler.
