Kuemper At Hawkeye 10 Conference Tournament At Shenandoah
Kuemper won a championship in number two singles with Mason Reicks and were 2nd place in number two doubles with Max Reincke and Braxton Lu while taking 3rd place as a team at the conference tournament in Shenandoah. Reicks was dominant in his opening two matches winning 8-1 and 8-2. He was challenged in the championship match by Payton Fort of Lewis Central but won that 8-5 to finish his day 3-0 in matches and 24-8 in games. Max Reincke and Braxton Lu were tough in number two doubles as well, winning a pair of tight matches in to open their day. They won 9-8 (7-2) in the opening round, then advanced into the finals with a 8-6 win. They fell in the title match 8-5, losing to Will Getter and Liam Hays of Glenwood. They ended their day in 2nd place, going 22-22 in games and 2-1 in matches. Hans Kraus added a 4th place finish in number one singles, going 1-2 in matches and 14-18 in games. He won his opening round 8-2 over Conner Wiley of Creston before dropping his next two matches. Josh Langel and Jake Hausman battled in number one doubles, going 2-2 in matches and 27-21 in games. They lost a heartbreaker in his opening match, falling 9-8 (7-2). They battled back to win their next match 802 over Edgar Mena and Garrett Hillwick of Harlan, then lost their next match. The pair bounced back again, winning their final match of the day 8-2 over Ben Miller and Brady Cox of Clarinda. They finished in 7th place.
