Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Four Area Girls Golf Teams Win Meets Friday

Girls Golf Results for Friday, April 14th, 2023

Kuemper at Greene County

The Kuemper Knights fought off some breezy conditions Friday to end up victorious against Greene County. Kuemper overall had great scores that ended up giving them the win with a score of 197 compared to Greene County’s 240. 

Freshmen Elsa Tiefenthaler and Addy Beiter impressed at this meet, picking up medalist and runner up medalist honors respectively. Tiefenthaler ended up with a score of 44 followed by Beiter with a score of 45. Ella Pick was next in the top four with a score of 51 and she was followed up by Grace Tigges who rounded out the top scorers with a score of 57. 

This win gives the Knights their first one-on-one meet win of the season. They’ll have another meet coming up on Monday, April 17th when they travel to take on Harlan.

Audubon at AHSTW

The Audubon Wheelers were on the road Friday as they took on AHSTW. Despite some wind in the forecast, the Wheelers ended up having a solid day of golfing with a team score of 219. Kali Irlmeier was crowned medalist with a score of 50 followed by Kacie Anthofer who took home runner up medalist honors with a score of 52. Alexandra Asmus and Mari Gleason rounded out the top scores for the Wheelers with scores of 58 and 59 respectively. 

The Wheelers are now 2-1 overall on the season. They are off until Friday, April 21st when they host Missouri Valley.

Kylie Powers and the IKM-Manning Wolves continue to bring home the wins as they were able to get past Tri-Center on Friday. The Wolves, after finishing first at the Denison Schleswig Triangular, routed the Trojans with a score of 205 to 228. 

Powers again picked up medalist honors once again with a score of 43 on the day. Megan Williams saw a dramatic turnaround from the triangular to today with a score of 52 for the Wolves. Brooke Booth stayed on track and had a score of 54. For the last three golfers, Eryn Ramsey, Ella Richards, and Maeve Nielsen, they all ended up with the same score of 56. 

The Wolves are back in action on Tuesday, April 18th when they travel to take on Riverside.

South Central Calhoun at St. Edmond

The South Central Calhoun Titans golfed two days in a row at home and took home two wins as they were able to get past St. Edmond on Friday afternoon. Winds continued to plague both teams, but the Titans got a taste of that yesterday and ended up with a score of 215 today compared to St. Edmond’s score of 232. 

Sam Stuart once again picked up medalist honors, crushing her score of 57 from a day prior with a score of 49 today. Mia Babcock saw a big improvement from the day before with a score of 53. As so was the case for Adlen Wheelock and Charissa Nowatzke who ended up with scores of 56 and 57 respectively. Lauren Korkow and Kyra Bruns stayed almost the same with scores of 59 and 66 respectively.

The Titans are back on the course on Thursday, April 20th when they once again host and will welcome West Bend-Mallard to town.
