Boys Golf Results for Friday, April 14th, 2023

Webster City and Panorama at Kuemper

 

The Kuemper Knights had a great day on the golf course Friday as they hosted Webster City and Panorama at the Carroll Country Club. The Knights were easily able to win the meet with a team score of 146. Webster City came in second with a score of 159 followed by Panorama’s score of 169. 

Maverick Schwabe and Braxton Vonnahme took home medalist and runner up medalist honors. Schwabe finished the day with a score of 34 followed one stroke behind by Vonnahe with a score of 35. Both guys were happy with their performances and Schwabe notes the friendly competition among the team that adds to their competitiveness on the course. Carter Putney continued the solid day for the Knights with a score of 38 followed right behind by Dawson Billmeier with a score of 39 to round out the scoring for Kuemper. Also of note were the two golfers just outside the top four being Benicio Lujano who finished with a score of 40 and Kayden Schon who had a score of 42. 

The Knights are back on the course on Monday, April 17th when they travel to compete in the Spencer Invitational.

Audubon at AHSTW

The Audubon Wheelers were able to get a win above .500 when they got past AHSTW Friday afternoon. The Wheelers were easily able to pick up the meet win with a score of 175 compared to AHSTW’s 198. 

The Wheelers were also able to secure both medalist and runner up medalist honors. Jay Remsburg beat out teammate Edward Miller by one stroke, 42 to 43, to earn medalist honors and give Miller runner up. Oliver Deist was also in the mix when it came to those honors as he finished with one stroke more than Miller with a score of 44. Ryan Hermansen rounded out the top four for Audubon with a great score of 46. Outside of the top four was Evan Alt who had a score of 49 and Henry Burr who finished with a score of 51. 

The Wheelers are now 2-1 overall on the season. They won’t have another meet until next Friday, April 21st when they host Missouri Valley.

IKM-Manning at Tri-Center

The IKM-Manning Wolves battled windy conditions all afternoon as they took on Tri-Center Friday. The Wolves were unable to win the meet as Tri-Center won 197-225. 

Despite not winning as a team, they still managed to capture runner up medalist honors. Josh Walker golfed well on the day and finished with a score of 48 and was runner up medalist. Kasche Huehn ended his day on the course with a score of 56 followed by Zander Richards with a 59 and Devyn Sander with a 62. 

The IKM-Manning Tournament for Saturday, April 15th has been canceled, meaning the next time the Wolves will be on the course will be Tuesday, April 18th when they travel to take on Riverside.

St. Edmond at South Central Calhoun

South Central Calhoun continues to play extremely well this season and captured another meet win when they hosted St. Edmond Friday. The Titans were home twice in a row this week and they again dominated on their home course winning with a score of 167 compared to St. Edmond’s 183. 

Justin Hanks was once again on top for the Titans with a medalist score of 38 followed by Bryan Steig with a runner up medalist score of 40. Charlie Nattress was one day removed from his medalist score of 42 and he was consistent today with a score of 44. Rounding out the top four was Caleb Gaffney who ended up with a score of 45. Despite being outside the top four scorers, Nik Whipkey had a solid day ending up with a score of 46. Finally, Noah Hendricks ended his day on the course with a score of 57. 

The Titans are now 6-0 overall on the season. They return to action on Thursday, April 20th when they once again host and will welcome West Bend Mallard to town.
