Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Carroll, East Sac, and SCC Boys Golfed Well in Windy Conditions Thursday

Boys Golf Results for Thursday, April 13th, 2023

Carroll and Bondurant Farrar at Winterset

During another windy day on the course, the Carroll Tigers took on two talented squads in Winterset and Bondurant Farrar. Despite continuing to play well and ending up with a team score of 182, it was only good for third place. Bondurant Farrar as a team shot 170 while Winterset shot a strong 149 overall. 

Bryce Berlau was able to secure another top honor at this meet, being named runner up medalist with a score of 36 overall. His day included plenty of great moments, including a birdie on hole eight and only two bogies being on holes five and nine. Luke Linde of Winterset was named medalist with a score of 34 where his only bad hole was hole nine where he got his one and only bogey on the day. Miles Bogue was second for the Tigers in scores where he finished the day with a 46. Bryton Treadway followed Bogue’s performance with a 49 while Wade Ragaller had another strong day with a score of 51 to round out the top four. 

The Tigers are back in action on Monday, April 17th when they compete in the Spencer Invitational.

West Bend Mallard at East Sac

The East Sac Raiders were able to pick up their first one-on-one meet win of the season when they hosted West Bend Mallard on Thursday afternoon. Conditions were windy but that didn’t stop the Raiders from completing their day with a score of 189 compared to the Wolverines’ score of 215.

Carter Hogrefe and Bradyn Burns were able to capture the top honors with Hogrefe being named medalist with a score of 44 and Burns was one stroke behind him at 45 for runner up medalist honors. Landon Graff and Chase Brockman rounded out the top four scorers for East Sac both with scores of 50. The Raiders return to action on Thursday, April 20th when they travel to take on Pocahontas.

Manson NW Webster at South Central Calhoun

Despite extremely windy conditions, the South Central Calhoun Titans got the job done and were able to defeat Manson NW Webster at their home meet Thursday afternoon. The Titans ended the day with a team score of 183 to the Cougars’ score of 191. 

Charlie Nattress and Justin Hanks had a friendly competition and were able to secure the top two individual spots. Nattress edged out Hanks for the top spot with a score of 42 compared to Hanks’ 43. Nattress told Carroll Broadcasting that this season he is trying to keep up with Hanks and beat him whenever he can, thus making the competitiveness amongst the team that much better. Bryan Steig continued the strong showing for the Titans with a score of 46. Nik Whipkey rounded out the top golfers for the Titans with a score of 52. 

South Central Calhoun continues their busy week on the course with another meet on Friday, April 14th when they host St. Edmond.
