Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Carroll Girls Soccer Drops Heartbreaker to LoMa on Tuesday

Carroll nearly picked up their second straight win, leading in the 2nd half before LoMa scored a pair of quick goals to take the lead and held on for the win. Sophia Polking scored to give the Tigers the lead in the 1st half off a nice pass from Paige Pothoff. The defense was sharp with Kaisen Stypa playing her best game of the season. Her hustle helped set the tempo for the Tigers and she was able to help save a goal when the Panthers looked to have an easy score. The Panthers scored, tying the game at 1-1 at  half. Macey Weber knocked in a shot from behind the 18-yard line, giving Carroll a 2-1 lead. Carroll held the lead until the Panthers scored goals with around 11:00 left to tie the game, then scored again around 3:00 later to take a 3-2 lead. The goal that tied it for the Panthers was an own goal on a corner kick. Kiley Riesberg went down with an injury with around 4:00 left and Gabby Olberding filled in at goalie, finishing with a save.

Macey Weber and Sophia Polking both had a goal and a shot on goal. Paige Pothoff added an assist and a shot on goal. Kiley Riesberg finished with 12 saves.

The Tigers fell to 1-3 on the season while Loma improved to 3-2. Carroll heads to Ballard on Thursday.
