Girls Track Results for Monday, April 3rd, 2023
Carroll, Kuemper, Glidden Ralston, Paton Churdan, and South Central Calhoun at SE Valley
Five of our area teams competed Monday at the Nodaway Valley CoEd meet with one team dominating the competition. Carroll, Kuemper, and South Central Calhoun were grouped into Class A where Carroll won the meet as a team with 158.5 points, way above second place finisher Manson NW Webster with 90 points. South Central Calhoun finished fifth overall with 57 points and Kuemper was sixth with 46. In Class B was Paton Churdan and Glidden Ralston where the Wildcats finished fourth overall with 47 points and the Rockets finished eighth with 26 points.
The Carroll Tigers had a heyday with nine event wins overall. Shay Sinnard had another big day in the field event and relays. She won the long jump once again with a best jump of 17-04.00 and even picked up a win in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.20. She was also part of the winning 4X200 relay and 4X100 relay. Brenna Goins, Aubrie Schmitt-Hubbard, Marasyn Wittrock, and Sinnard won the 4X200 relay with a winning time of 1:55.83 and Sinnard, along with Goins, Madison Tunning, and Wittrock, won the 4X100 with a time of 52.94. Wittrock was part of two other winning relays, being the sprint medley relay and 4X400. Wittrock, along with Emily Puck, Katelyn Aden, and Marie Dea, won the 4X400 with a time of 4:21.23. Wittrock, Aubrie Drake, Tunning, and Dea won the sprint medley relay with a winning time of 1:55.74.
Dea continues to be a standout long distance runner as she won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.74 and 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.21. Tunning, along with a second-place finish in the shuttle hurdles, also won the 100-hurdles event with a winning time of 16.10.
South Central Calhoun had two event winners individually while also coming away with two other top-two finishes. Keira Hammen looked sharp in the field events, winning the shot put with a best throw of 36-05.25 and discus with a best throw of 105-02. Brenna McAlister had a strong showing in the 1500-meter run where she finished second with a time of 5:34.89. The 4X800 relay, composed of Emma Myers, Sam Potts, Kaite Burley, and Mady Smidt, got second-place with a time of 12:36.94.
For the Kuemper Knights, they finished the day with four top-three finishes. Elli Sibbel finished the day in the shot put with a third-place finish with a best throw of 35-00.50. Macy Blum finished third in the long jump with a best jump of 15-01.50. In the running events, two Kuemper relays finished second, being the 4X200 and 4X100. Blum, Kerrigan Irlbeck, MEgan Scott, and Kaci Peter all were part of both relays where they had a time of 1:56.42 in the 4X200 and 54.90 in the 4X100.
Glidden Ralston’s Vanessa Koehler stood out once again at this meets and looks to keep improving her times and results in time for the state qualifying meet. She was able to win the high jump once again with a winning jump of 4-10.00 and the 100-hurdles with a time of 16.86. She also snagged a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.22 and third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.89. The Wildcats’ 4X100 relay team also had a solid showing finishing in fourth-place with a time of 1:01.37. Savannah Bennett, Payton Danner, BreAnn Hartwigsen, and Tiela Janssen were part of that relay.
Paton Churdan came away from this meet with some solid top finishes. Becca Anderson was able to bring the Rockets a win in an individual event, being the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:10.80. She was also part of the sprint medley relay team, along with Bailey Anderson, Mia Russel, and Ava Minnehan, that finished fourth with a time of 2:13.08. Becca Anderson also finished fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.33. Russell, Bailey Anderson, Minnehan, and Autumn Consier gave the Rockets another top-five finish in the distance medley relay where they finished fifth with a time of 5:33.95. Consier also had some good individual finishes, those being in the high jump at fifth place with a best jump of 9-02.50, and 1500-meter run finishing third overall with a time of 7:56.69.

Audubon at Nodaway Valley
The Audubon Wheelers had an overall great day on a cold and windy day at Nodaway Valley Monday. The Wheelers were able to finish fifth overall as a team with 62 points. Treynor was the overall winner with 120 team points.
Madison Steckler and Stefi Beisswenger brought Audubon their two first-place finishes from this meet. Steckler ran her way to a first-place finish in the 200 meter dash with a winning time of 26.67. Beisswenger was able to snag a win in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:46.54. She also got second-place in the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:16.98 and third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:51.71.
In the relays, Audubon had three top-three finishes overall. In the sprint medley relay, Addie Hocker, Michelle Brooks, Steckler, and Mattie Nielsen were able to finish third overall with a time of 2:01.40. Nielsen, Hocker, and Brooks were joined by Anna Larsen in the 4X200 where the relay team finished third overall with a time of 2:02.10. Finally, the shuttle hurdle team, composed of Brooks, Nielsen, Steckler, and Madison Burr finished third overall with a time of 1:16.73.
