The Kuemper Knights picked up their first meet win of the season as they swept Atlantic on the road Monday. The Knights had some tough matches in both singles and doubles, but they were able to pull away for the 9-0 win in matches.
In singles, Hans Kraus had the most dominant win with a 10-2 win against Nolan Waters. Mason Reicks, Max Reincke, and Jake Hausman all too had solid wins, winning 10-3, 10-4, and 10-4 respectively. Braxton Lu saw some back and forth from Isaac Henson but ultimately won 10-5. Josh Langel had the most trouble in singles as Clevi Johnson brought the match to extra sets. Langel was able to hold on and win 11-9.
Two of the doubles matches for the Knights were close despite them already having the meet win secured. Reincke and Lu teamed up to take on Alex Rosenbaum and Isaac Henson where the Kuemper duo were able to pull out the 10-7 win. Langel andKraus were close to being beaten by Clevi Johnson and Nolan Waters, but they were able to slide by with the 10-8 win. Reicks and Hausman had the smoothest match in doubles winning 10-2.
The Knights are now 1-1 overall on the season. They are back on the courts on Monday, April 10th when they host Red Oak.
