Carroll came out aggressive in their season and home opener on Friday, maintaining possession of the ball on their end of the field most of both half’s. The pressure eventually wore down the Trojans defense, allowing Carroll to score in each half. Camron Schweers found Landon Petersen with 19:33 left in the 1st half and the Tigers led 1-0. Carroll had gotten the ball into the net earlier in the half but the goal was whipped out. The Tigers kept the pressure on, but weren’t able to score and led 1-0 at half. Carroll started the 2nd half, much like they began the game, passing the ball well, putting pressure on Atlantic. It paid off when Landon Petersen scored on a tough shot, on a pass by Makinnon Davis. Carroll led 2-0 with 29:52 left in the game. The Tigers out shot Atlantic 16-4 with Atlantic’s best chances to score coming late in the game. Tanner Heithoff finished with 4 saves with a pair of them in the closing minutes.
Landon Petersen scored goal and made an assist. Makinnon Davis added a goal and Camron Schweers finished with an assist.
The Tigers sit 1-0 as they prepare to head to Bondurant Farrar on Monday.

It was a tough night for Kuemper as they dropped their third straight game to open the season with a busy week. The Knights hosted Tri Center on Monday and Panorama on Thursday before heading to Underwood on Friday. Michael Kasperbauer ended the game with 8 saves for the Knights.
Kuemper will host Lewis Central on Tuesday.
