Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Carroll and Kuemper Boys Track Competed Thursday

Boys Track Results Thursday, March 30th

Kuemper At Denison Schleswig 

The Knights brought home three titles in the field events with a second place finish in the other field event. The success in their field events helped them finish third as a team with 90 points behind Atlantic with 101 and Lewis Central with 164.50. Kuemper held off Harlan, who had 85 points. Kuemper added ten other top five finishes along with their three titles. 

Ben Gerken had two of the Knights titles winning the Long Jump at 20-01.00 and the High Jump at 5-11. Evan Adams had their other title, winning the Discus with a 152-07. Adams was second in the Shot Put with a 45-07. DJ Vonnahme took third in the Long Jump. Jacob Greving nearly won the 800 Meters, taking 2nd place, only .21 behind the leader. Koby Lampman was third in the 400 Meters. Trevor Rial took 2nd in the 400 Hurdles. The Knights showed their depth in distance races, finishing second in the 4×800 with Tregan Beiter, Thomas Pottebaum, Trevor Rial and Jacob Greving.

      Carroll At Ogden Early Bird

      Carroll had a strong showing in the second meet this week, finishing in third place with 108 points, two points behind Van Meter and Ogden who won the meet with 132 points. The Tigers picked up three championships and had good success in relays with four-second place finishes and one of their championships. The Tigers ended the night with fifthteen events inside their top five. 

      Ryan North claimed two of Carroll’s titles, winning the 1600 Meters in 4:56.91 and the 3200 Meters in 11:21.57. Carroll also won the Shuttle Hurdle in 1:10.23 with Carter Smith, Maddow White, Carson Tedrow and Owen Klocke. Evan Schaefer was third in the 800 Meters, Blake Molinsky took third in the 1600 Meters and Owen Klocke was third in the 110 Hurdles. The 4×100 team of Edrik Heisterkamp, Jack White, Trey Hunter and Reece Ziegmann finished second as did the 4×200 with Jake Jorgensen, Jack White, Trey Hunter and Reece Ziegmann. The Distance Medley team added to their relay success, taking second with Austin Tigges, Tate Schliesman, Edrik Heisterkamp and Blake Molinsky and the Sprint Medley team was also second with Reece Ziegmann, Jake Jorgensen, Jack White and Austin Tigges. Trey Hunter continued a strong start to the season, finishing second in the High Jump.
