Kuemper battled hard in their season opener on Monday, even after falling behind 1-0 just 1:42 into the game. The Knights didn’t give up another goal until late in the 1st half, though they had the wind in their faces and the ball stayed on the Trojans offensive end of the pitch most of the half. The Knights put pressure on Tri Center, only being out shot 10-8 but weren’t able to find the net. The defense struggled at times with players in different roles with several players not available on Monday but did a nice job holding the Trojans to 4 goals. Tri Center extended the lead to 2-0 with 10:04 left in the half and led 2-0 at half. The Trojans added a pair of goals in the 2nd half at the 27:40 and 7:43 marks. The Knights best chance to score came late when Fletch Badding had a breakout shot and had it hit the cross bar with 3:44 left.

Trevor Lamaak played well in goal with 4 saves. Tommy Fitzsimmons, Fletch Badding, Charlie Mayhall and Emiliano Nava had shots on goal for Kuemper.

The Knights open the season 0-1 and will host Panorama on Thursday.
