Kendall Quirk and Addisen Ehler set the tempo early, controlling the backboards in the 1st quarter, but the Raiders couldn’t get shots to fall. Quirk put them ahead 2-0 with a pair of free throws. IKM-Manning responded with an 11-2 run to lead 11-4 at the end of 1st quarter. Kaitlynn Spoelstra came off the bench and hit a pair of threes to give IKM-Manning their first lead. They hadn’t scored for the first 3:30 minutes before Spoelstra buckets. Anna Stangl added a three and Abby Nielheisel put the Wolves up 11-4. Makenna Steiger drained a three to start the 2nd quarter for East Sac, Kendall Quirk scored a bucket, then added a free throw, cutting the deficit to 13-10. Quirk and Steiger scored again for East Sac, giving them the lead at 15-13. The Raiders run of 13-2 gave them a 19-13 lead with a couple minutes remaining in the half. IKM-Manning used a 6-0 spurt to end the half tied at 19 with points from Taylor Beckendorf, and Anna Stangl, who hit a pair of free throws to tie the game.
The Wolves pounded the ball inside to Mabel Langel to start the 2nd half, going up 23-19. Addisen Ehler stopped the run for the Raiders with a free throw, then Kendall Quirk added a bucket, pulling the Raiders within 23-22. Kaitlynn Spoelstra had her third-three of the game, putting the Wolves up 26-22. That is when Kendall Quirk and Addisen Ehler took over inside. They scored back-to-back buckets inside, tying the game at 28. Quirk then gave the Raiders the lead with a pair of buckets. East Sac led 32-28 late in the 3rd. Kaitlynn Spoelstra drained another three for the Wolves, then hit a bucket to put them ahead 33-32. Sarah Bontrager was fouled on a three and hit all three free throws, putting East Sac up 35-33. Anna Stangl kept the Wolves in it with her third three, giving the Wolves a 36-35 lead. Mabel Langel scored just before buzzer and IKM-Manning headed to the 4th quarter, up 38-35. Mary Bontrager tied the game to start the 4th and Kendall Quirk put the Raiders up for good. Addisen Ehler extended the lead to 4. The Raiders grabbed their largest lead (45-38) on a bucket by Kendall Quirk. Quirk kept getting open inside and Mary Bontrager kept finding her for open layups. Anna Stangl hit a three to give the Wolves a chance, down 45-41 and Taylor Beckendorf cut it to 45-43. Addisen Ehler scored a pair of baskets inside and the Raiders were up 6. Stangl knocked down another three for IKM-Manning, pulling them within 49-46 but the Wolves were unable to get good looks with the pressure defense from IKM-Manning down the stretch. Mary Bontrager hit one of two free throws twice and Kendal Quirk added a free throw to give the Raiders a 6 point lead with under 10 seconds remaining.
Kendall Quirk led the Raiders with an outstanding performance, scoring 24 points to go with 15 rebounds. Addisen Ehler had 9 points and 8 rebounds as the Raiders controlled the boards. Mary Bontrager finished with 8 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals. Makenna Steiger added 8 points and Constana Rosati blocked 4 shots.
Kaitlynn Spoelstra and Anna Stangl both had 14 points for IKM-Manning. Morgan Hanson dished out 7 assists and Mabel Langel scored 7 points.
The Raiders improved to 5-17 and will head to Pocahontas Area on Tuesday. IKM-Manning ends the season at 7-16.
