Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Kanne and Kramer Wrestled Friday At State

Girls State Wrestling Results Friday, February 3rd

Julia Kanne of Carroll High and Evelyn Kramer of South Central Calhoun competed on Friday in the 4th round wrestlebacks. Both wrestlers faced very stiff competition. Kanne faced Maya Humlicek of Lewis Central, who entered the tournament as the 2nd seed. Kanne fell down with a quick takedown and ended up losing by fall just before the end of the 1st period. The match ended at 1:50. Kanne ended the season 25-6.

Evenlyn Kramer of South Central Calhoun faced Lexa Rozevink of Ames, who entered the match 32-4. Kramer gave up a quick takedown and some back points but rallied with an escape, to trail 4-1 late in the 1st period. A late rally by Rozevink extended the lead to 9-1 at the end of the 1st period. Kramer would end up losing by fall at the 2:38 mark. She finishes her season at 38-9.
