Carroll At Raccoon River Conference Meet At Gilbert

Carroll heads into Tuesday’s Regional Dual Tournament on a role, taking 3rd at the Raccoon River Conference Tournament on Saturday. The Tigers had six of thirteen wrestlers place in the top 3 with one champion, two 2nd place finishes and three guys taking 3rd. Carroll went 25-20 in matches wrestled with one loss coming from a medical forfeit in the finals. The Tigers won fourteen matches by fall, two by tech fall, six by decision and three by medical forfeit.

Cael Nelson was a champion for Carroll at 126 pounds. Nelson went 3-0 with all three wins by fall, including winning the championship match by fall over Jacob Moeckly of North Polk in 5:46. Owen Klocke was 2-1, taking 2nd place at 152 with both wins by decision. Jireh Gallegos took 2nd place at 160 with both of his wins by fall. He didn’t wrestle in the finals due to a medical forfeit. Chase Ragaller, Cooper Ludwig and Ryler Ziegmann all took 3rd place. All guys went 3-1 with Ziegmann having a win  by fall, tech fall (21-6) and medical forfeit, Ludwig had a win by fall, tech fall (18-1) and medical forfeit and Ragaller had all three wins by fall.

Kuemper At Hawkeye 10 Conference Tournament At Clarinda

Kuemper finished 5th with 114 points at the Hawkeye 10 Conference Tournament on Saturday. The Knights had a 2nd place finish, winning 17 matches on the day. They went 17-30 in matches wrestled with ten wins by fall, four major decisions, two decisions and a medical forfeit.

Riley Parkis had a strong day, going 2-1, taking 2nd place at 132 pounds. He won a match by fall and one by major decision (10-0). The Knights other top finishers were Coby Pierce, who went 3-2 with a fall, major decision (21-7) and medical forfeit. Caleb Hoffman, Jake Hausman, Tate Bieret and Will Healy all went 2-2.

 Audubon Wheeler Invitational 

Audubon had five guys wrestle on Saturday at their invitational with two guys finishing in the top 3. The Wheelers finished 9th with 43 points, going 5-8 in matches wrestled. They won four matches by fall and a major decision.

Lane Elmquist and Jack Stanerson both finished in 3rd place, with both guys going 2-1. Elmquist won both of his wins by fall at 106 while Stanerson had a win by fall and a major decision (18-6) at 120.
