Carroll started hot from the outside, then had an answer, every time Harlan made a run as the Tigers pick up a dominating win over Harlan on Thursday. Carroll hit six-threes in the 1st quarter, building a 23-9 lead. The led grew to 16 in the 1st half but Harlan chipped away and trailed by 6 with 3:30 left in the 1st half. Carroll closed the half with a nice run to lead by 12 (35-23) at half. The Tigers defense was tough inside, double and tripling teaming the Cyclones post game, forcing them to win the game with dribble drives or outside shots. It worked well for the Tigers all game long. Harlan pulled within 8 in the 3rd quarter but the Tigers had the answer again, using great ball movement to get good looks and they knocked down shots. Carroll finished the game with 14 made 3’s.

Carroll came out firing on all cylinders, getting a free throw from Shayne Aschinger before the three point barrage got started. Camryn Schable put Carroll up 4-0 with a three, but Harlan rallied  to lead 5-4. Madison Tunning put Carroll back up with the first of her threes and Carroll never trailed again. Schable hit another three, (she finished with 5) and Carroll led 10-5. Katelyn Aden made it 13-5, Madison Tunning extended it to 17-5 and Shay Sinnard scored to put the Tigers up 17-5. After a Harlan bucket, Camryn Schable extended the lead to 20-7 with another three and Shay Sinnard drained the sixth of the quarter and Carroll led 23-9 after the 1st quarter. A Madison Tunning three early in the 2nd quarter put Carroll up 28-12, but Harlan clamped down on defense, forcing Carroll to drive, creating turnovers. They started chipping away at the Tigers lead, using a 10-0 run, to trail 28-22 late in the half. Bailey Schulte hit a huge three for Carroll to stem the tide, putting Carroll up 31-22. Shayne Aschinger scored inside, followed by baskets from Katelyn Aden and Camryn Schable. Carroll was up 38-23 at half, closing the half on a 10-1 run.

Harlan scored the first-five points of the 3rd quarter, but Camryn Schable scored to put the Tigers up 12. Harlan kept chipping away and pulled within 45-37. Carroll stepped up the intensity, scoring the next four baskets and five of six baskets. Madison Tunning started the run, Shayne Aschinger scored again and Katelyn Aden drained another 3 and Olivia Rowedder scored inside and Carroll led 53-37 early in the 4th. A Sophia Tidgren three gave the Tigers their largest lead at 65-42 which was matched on a three from Mackenzie Johnson.

Camryn Schable hit 5-3’s and led Carroll with 19 points to go with 8 rebounds. Katelyn Aden added 14 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. Madison Tunning nearly head a double-double with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Shay Sinnard chipped in 7 points. Olivia Rowedder pulled down 5 rebounds.

The win improves the Tigers to 7-8 overall as they host Ballard on Friday night.
