Girls Wrestling Results Tuesday, January 17th
Carroll, Kuemper and Audubon At East Sac Tournament
Carroll High had another terrific night, taking 2nd place overall with 125 points, picking up three individual champions while going 20-9 in matches wrestled. Carroll had 18 wins by fall, a major decision and a decision. Audubon scored 69 points with only four wrestlers, taking 9th place. The Wheelers were 8-3 in matches wrestled with 7 wins by fall and a decision. Kuemper Catholic also wrestled with four girls, finishing 10th with 49 points. They ended the night 5-5 in matches wrestled with 4 wins by fall and a decision. The Raiders had three girls compete, taking 11th place with 46 points. They went 5-4 in matches wrestled with all five wins by fall.
Julia Kanne, Sunny McGowan and Averi Burke all claimed titles for Carroll High. McGowan went 4-0 with all four wins by fall. Kanne was 2-0 with a win by fall and a decision and Burke went 3-0 with all three wins by fall. Piper Fineran was 3-1 with three wins by fall, Emma Grossman went 2-1 with two wins by fall, Brianna Kiger went 2-1 with a fall and a major decision (10-1) while Kloee Jones went 2-1 with both wins by fall.
Stefi Beisswenger of Audubon was a champion, going 3-0 with all three wins by fall. Laura McCarville and Kori Sybesma both went 2-1 with McCarville having two wins by fall and Sybesma having a win by fall and a decision.
Grace Hoffman and Kyla Wiskus both went 2-1 for Kuemper with Hoffman winning both her matches by fall and Wiskus had a win by fall and a decision. Both wrestlers finished in 2nd place.
Olivia Villegas was the highest finisher for East Sac, taking 2nd place, going 2-1 with both wins by fall. Sophia Villegas also went 2-1, falling in the semifinals, taking 3rd place with both her wins by fall.
