Audubon at Exira-EHK

Exira-EHK 60

Audubon 20

The Audubon Wheelers couldn’t snap their slow start as they ended up falling to Exira-EHK Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans got out to a quick start with their full court press defense that, for a time, Audubon was working around fairly well. The Spartans were on a 12-0 scoring run that turned into a 28-2 first quarter. Quinn Grubbs and Shay Burmeister both ran the offense for Exira-EHK and had 11 and seven points respectively. Sienna Albertsen started to get fired up in the second quarter and nailed two three-pointers for the Wheelers. The Spartans held a big lead at the halftime at 40-11.

The second half was a continuation of the first half for the Spartans as they’d put up 20 points and kept Audubon to nine points. Jaelynn Petersen continued to pester the Wheelers with steals and she allowed the Spartans to end the game with a 60-20 win.

The Wheelers are back in action on Tuesday, January 17th when they travel to take on #9 Treynor.
