Kuemper struggled from the field against the 4th ranked team in the State, shooting 28.9% from the field and hitting 3 of 14 from behind the arc. The Knights turned it over 22 times against an aggressive Heelan defense. Kuemper created 10 turnovers on defense and held Heelan to 39.6% from the field.
Lauren Boell continues to play well, leading the Knights with 11 points and pulling down 5 rebounds. Catherine Mayhall had 10 points. Frannie Glynn had a team high 6 rebounds and Kaylie Diercksen added 6 points.
The loss drops Kuemper to 7-7 overall. They head to Harlan on Monday on KIKD 106.7.

Glidden Ralston traveled to take on the 5th ranked team on Saturday, falling behind 32-4 at the end of the 1st quarter. The Wildcats struggled against a very strong Rebel defense, scoring 4, 8, 7 and 9 points in the four quarters. The game was in continuous clock at the half with Westwood leading 49-12.
Paige Klocke and Kassidy Wenck had team high 8 points each.
The Wildcats fall to 7-6 overall and will host Ogden on Monday.

The Audubon Wheelers couldn’t snap their slow start as they ended up falling to Exira-EHK Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans got out to a quick start with their full court press defense that, for a time, Audubon was working around fairly well. The Spartans were on a 12-0 scoring run that turned into a 28-2 first quarter. Quinn Grubbs and Shay Burmeister both ran the offense for Exira-EHK and had 11 and seven points respectively. Sienna Albertsen started to get fired up in the second quarter and nailed two three-pointers for the Wheelers. The Spartans held a big lead at the halftime at 40-11.
The second half was a continuation of the first half for the Spartans as they’d put up 20 points and kept Audubon to nine points. Jaelynn Petersen continued to pester the Wheelers with steals and she allowed the Spartans to end the game with a 60-20 win.
The Wheelers are back in action on Tuesday, January 17th when they travel to take on #9 Treynor.
