Coon Rapids Bayard battled back from down 9 at the half to win a big home game in the Rolling Valley Conference. They locked down defensively after struggling on defense to open the game. Woodbine was able to hit some threes in the 1st half, some in the half-court, others in transition. That changed after half as the Crusaders battled on the defensive end. sparking the offensive end. The Crusaders pulled within three heading to the 4th quarter. Cade Behrens hit a big thee late to give them the lead, they missed the front end of a few one-and-ones, they were able to get a couple stops down the stretch. Woodbine missed a three in the closing seconds and Lance Clayburg pulled down the rebound. The Tigers got one more chance but the shot went off the backboard and the Crusaders picked up their sixth win of the season.

Cal Heydon had a few tough contested baskets in the 2nd half and led the Crusaders with 26 points. Cade Behrens added 14 points and Lance Clayburg had a great defensive game, holding Carter Gruver to 9 points (averages 22). Clayburg added 15 rebounds and 8 points on offense.

Coon Rapids Bayard improves to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They host Paton Churdan on Friday.

Audubon pulled away in the 2nd quarter, then put the game away with a dominant 4th quarter, picking up a road win in the Western Iowa Conference on Monday. The Wheelers and Big Red were tied at 13 after the 1st quarter but Audubon erupted on offense in the 2nd quarter. Edward Miller and Carson Bauer both scored 20 or more points in the game, helping to spark the Wheelers in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Big Red 21-6, to lead 34-19 at half. The lead grew to 20 heading to the 4th quarter, then the Wheelers put it away, rolling to 19 points in the 4th.

Carson Bauer had a game high 21 points and Edward Miller scored 20 points. Collin Bauer gave the Wheelers their third player in double figures with 12 points.

The win improves them to 4-7 overall and 3-6 in the Conference. They host Tri Center on Friday.

A slow start for the Rockets put them in a hole against a good Cougars ball club on Monday. They trailed by 21 at the end of the 1st quarter. The loss drops them to 0-6 overall on the season.

East Sac was solid most of the night, pulling within 5 late before a few turnovers allowed the Titans to pull away late. The Raiders shot the ball well, hitting 49% from the field, but GTRA also shot the ball well. The Raiders trailed by 8 at the end of the 1st quarter but rallied to within 4 at half. Struggles at the free throw line (2-8) along with 17 turnovers were critical in the loss.

The Raiders turned the ball over six times in the 1st quarter, falling behind by 8. They established the inside game with Luke Wright and Ryan Clair and got a pair of threes from Aden Vondrak in the 2nd quarter, helping to pull within 4 at half. The game was tight until late when GTRA was able to extend the lead to 9 and maintained over the final few minutes.

Luke Wright and Ryan Clair paced the Raiders with 17 points each. Clair had a team high 7 rebounds while Wright pulled down 6. Karter Ludwig gave East Sac a third player in double figures with 10 points. Aden Vondrak continues to find teammates, pacing them with 7 assists with Brody Boeckman adding 6 assists. The Raiders assisted on 16 of their 24 made baskets. Aden Vondrak and Ryan Clair each had 2 block shots.

The Raiders fell to 2-6 overall and 0-4 in the Twin Lakes Conference. They host Cherokee on Thursday.
