IKM-Manning at Coon Rapids Bayard Boys

IKM-Manning 56

Coon Rapids Bayard 42

The IKM-Manning Wolves extended their current win streak to three games as they took on the Coon Rapids Bayard Crusaders Thursday night.

The Wolves had two big wins over Missouri Valley and Treynor and looked to knock off a Crusader’s team looking to snap a two game skid. IKM-Manning had no fears taking shots from beyond the arc as they nailed three of them, two coming from Ben Ramsey. Coon Rapids Bayard got off to a slower than needed start, but Cade Behrens got them back on track with two three-pointers of his own to keep the Crusaders down by five at 17-12. IKM-Manning’s defense started to work wonders against the Crusaders as they stopped the Crusaders’ from scoring in the paint. The Wolves kept firing shots from three-point range with Ross Kusel knocking down a three-pointer. IKM-Manning kept their momentum going and got up 31-18 at halftime. Ramsey had a big night for the Wolves, putting up 12 points in the first half. Lance Clayburg was kept to seven points in the first half and Behrens led the first half with 11 points.

In the second half, Coon Rapids Bayard had some better luck shooting the ball, but still couldn’t slow down IKM-Manning. Ross Kusel got off two big three-pointers to keep the momentum going for his team while Lance Clayburg was finally able to get shots off in the paint for the Crusaders. The Wolves kept their pace up and found themselves up 46-26 entering the fourth quarter. Coon Rapids Bayard was finally able to get ahead of the Wolves in the final eight minutes, but the large deficit was too much to come back from. Kusel continued to attack the basket and found himself with six fourth quarter points and Cal Heydon got himself some solid points with seven points. The Wolves with their great first half performances allowed them to cruise to a 56-42 victory over the Crusaders.
