The Knights won their 5th straight in convincing fashion, pulling away in the 2nd quarter and cruising to a 28-point win. The defense was sharp, creating turnovers with their man-to-man pressure. They had 12 steals that led to several easy baskets in the 2nd quarter when Kuemper outscored the Panthers 25-6. The Knights led 38-18 at half and kept the pressure up in the 3rd quarter. Kuemper shot nearly 66% from inside the arc and hit 10-26 from beyond the arc, finishing the game at 54.1% from the field. They did struggle from the free throw line, going 1-10.
Twelve different Knights scored in the game with two players in double figures and two more nearly in double figures. Dawson Gifford led them with 17 points while Michael Kasperbauer finished with 15 points. Taye Vonnahme added 9 points off the bench and Brock Badding added 8 points. Carson Kanne dished out 10 assists while Dawson Gifford added 4 steals.
The Knights improved to 5-1 overall and will host Greene County on KIKD 106.7 on Saturday afternoon.

Carroll dropped a tough game on Friday on the road as the Tigers trailed by 6 at the end of the 1st quarter and trailed 51-45 entering the 4th quarter. The Tigers were consistent on offense, scoring in double figures in all four quarters but gave up 23-points in the 2nd and 4th quarters.
The Tigers fought back in the 2nd quarter and took a 32-31 lead but Ballard used a 10-0 run to lead 41-32 at half. That would be a prelude to the 2nd half as Carroll made defensive adjustments at half and held Ballard scoreless for the first-five minutes of the 3rd. Carroll pulled within 41-38 but Ballard again went on a 10-2 run. The Tigers kept fighting, trimming the lead to one possession but the Bombers used another run to seal the game in the 4th quarter.
Carroll finished with four players in double figures with Tanner Gotto leading the way with 21 points, Bryce Berlau had 12 points, Evan Hammer 11 points and Jack White 10 points. Hammer added 10 rebounds while Gotto had 5 rebounds and Berlau dished out 5 assists.
The loss drops Carroll to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the Raccoon River Conference. The Tigers host Bondurant Farrar on Tuesday.

Huge win for IKM-Manning as they knock off previously unbeaten Treynor at home. The Wolves battled, using a 12-0 scoring run in the 4th quarter to take the lead, then won with defense in the overtime. The largest lead in the 1st half for either team was 3 with Treynor leading by 3, 13-10 at the end of the 1st quarter. IKM-Manning battled back and led 21-20 at half. Treynor started the 3rd quarter on a 7-0 run to lead 27-21 but IKM-Manning didn’t falter and chipped away, trailing 34-33 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Treynor scored the first-four points of the 4th but the Wolves responded with 12 straight and led 45-38 with just over a minute left. Treynor responded and hit a 3 with three seconds left, tying the game at 46 and sending it to overtime. Neither team could muster much in the overtime. The Wolves finally got a bucket from Reed Hinners who added a free throw later, which turned out to be the game winner. Treynor got a steal late in the overtime as the Wolves were trying to run clock and had a couple shots before the buzzer but didn’t get one to fall and the Wolves improved to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the Western Iowa Conference with a 49-48 win.
Caden Keller had a game high 13 points to go with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Reed Hinners came up clutch in overtime, finishing with 12 points. Eli Dreyer had a team high 6 steals, Cooper Irlmeier led them with 11 rebounds and Lane Sams added 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
The Wolves head to Missouri Valley on Tuesday.

The Ar-We-Va Rockets trimmed a 12 point deficit down to three points in the first parts of the second half, but couldn’t hold on to win against Coon Rapids Bayard Friday night.
The Crusaders were looking for win number four on the season while the scrappy Rockets were looking for their first win of the season. In the first quarter both teams didn’t see much scoring, but Coon Rapids Bayard was able to stay ahead with a 11-7 lead. Kolby Culbertson led all players in the first quarter with four points. The Crusaders kept cruising in the second quarter with Cal Heydon leading the way. He got fired up with seven points in the quarter including one from three-point range. The Crusaders would get ahead by a score of 23-14 at halftime. The usual scorer for the Rockets, Emmett Neumann, was being tied up consistently and was only kept to 2 points all game. Kyelar Cleveland stepped up big for his team, putting up 14 points and getting eight rebounds.
The Rockets came out of the break with a ton of momentum with a 8-0 run to start the quarter. Harley Molina and Blayne Smith both crushed three pointers to cut a nine point deficit down to only three. The Crusaders tried to get back but Ar-We-Va kept them to a five point lead at best for a large portion of the quarter. The Crusaders caught up a fair bit toward the end of the quarter with Heydon getting four points in. Coon Rapids Bayard held on to their lead at 31-24 entering the fourth quarter. The final eight minutes was a battle of Ar-We-Va trying to get back into the game and Coon Rapids Bayard trying to hold on. The Crusaders ended up getting the momentum back and ended up leading the game by 10 points late and eventually came away with a 49-36 victory.
Heydon for the Crusaders led all players with 22 points and four steals while Lance Clayburg got himself a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Despite a low scoring effort, Neumann still came away with a team high nine rebounds. The Crusaders improved to 4-2 overall on the season and 2-2 in the Rolling Valley Conference while Ar-We-Va fell to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The Rockets get right back to action on Saturday, December 17th when they host Glidden Ralston while Coon Rapids Bayard gets CAM Anita on Tuesday, December 20th.

West Harrison entered the game ranked 3rd in Class 1A and used a big 1st and 3rd quarter to knock off Glidden Ralston. The Wildcats had a good 1st quarter on offense, but trailed by 15 heading into the 2nd quarter. Their defense picked up but West Harrison was able to shut down the Wildcats, holding them to 2-points and led 39-15 at half.
John Whitver had a team high 9 points for Glidden Ralston with Colby Wallace adding 6 points.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 2-4 overall. They head to Ar-We-Va on Saturday.

Carson Bauer led the way with 16 points for Audubon as the team was balanced behind him with Edward Miller with 8 points and Carson Wessel scoring 7 points.
The loss drops the Wheelers to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in the Western Iowa Conference. They head to LoMa on Tuesday.
