Carroll used a great defensive effort, especially inside to pick up a nice road win. The Tigers held Storm Lake in single digits in all four quarters. Shanye Aschinger was terrific inside on the defensive, adding a strong night on the boards. Carroll shot 40.4% from the field but had 15 steals that led to some offensive opportunities. The score was tight most of the game with Carroll up by 4 at half. They edged away in the 3rd quarter, holding Storm Lake to 8 points while having their best offensive effort with 13 points.
Shayne Aschinger had 10 rebounds to go with 5 points, Camryn Schable led the Tigers with 10 points while Madison Tunning added 9 points and Shay Sinnard, Ava Gross and Katelyn Aden all had 7 points in a balanced attack. Sinnard and Gross both had 4 steals while Aden dished out 4 assists.
Carroll improves to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the Raccoon River Conference. They host Winterset on Tuesday on KKRL.

East Sac had a late lead slip away after rallying late in the 3rd quarter to tie the game and pulling ahead by 5 late in regulation. They played their best game this season, shooting 43.5% from three point range and 34% from the field. The Raiders knocked down 10 threes with five girls hitting threes. East Sac trailed by 5 at half but rallied late in the 3rd quarter with six straight points on 3’s by Sarah Bontrager and Jen Aschinger.
Mary Bontrager led the Raiders with 16 points and 3 assists. Kendall Quirk was strong inside with 14 rebounds. Jen Aschinger finished with 9 points, Makenna Steiger added 8 points and Addisen Ehler had 8 rebounds.
The Raiders fall to 0-4 on the season. They head to Pocahontas Area on Tuesday.

Things slipped away from IKM-Manning in the 2nd quarter after they built an early lead. The Wolves had jumped out early, leading 12-10 heading into the 2nd quarter but Exira-EHK got going in the 2nd quarter, scoring 45 points. The Spartans shot over 50% from the field for the game, holding IKM-Manning to 34.9%. The Wolves defense forced 23 turnovers but turned it over 40 times themselves, leading to easy baskets for the Spartans.
Morgan Hanson and Mabel Langel led the Wolves with 9 points each. Taylor Beckendorf added 6 points off the bench. Langel and Abby Nieheisel led the Wolves with 7 rebounds each.
IKM-Manning falls to 2-3 overall and will host Treynor on Friday.
