Kuemper Boys at Humboldt Tournament Joe Fitch Invitational
The Kuemper Knights boys wrestling team saw some great individual successes at the Joe Fitch Invitational Friday in Humboldt. Kuemper finished in 5th place with 137.5 points.
21-29 in matches wrestled and came away with one second place finish and two third place finishes. Riley Parkis had the best day among the Knights, finishing second at 132 pounds. Parkis won his first two matches via tech fall and fall at 1:04, and fell just short in the 1st place match, but wrestled well only losing via a 1-0 decision. Owen Nepple and Jake Irlbeck were the two who finished in third place. Nepple at 113 pounds won two of his three matches he wrestled, winning via fall at the 4:35 mark and a 7-0 decision in the third-place match. Irlbeck at 152 pounds went 3-1 on the day, winning his matches by a 13-3 major decision, and two wins via fall, one at 2:30 and the other in his third-place match at 1:22.
