Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Three Area Girls Wrestling Teams Competed Saturday

Carroll At Nevada Tournament

The Carroll Tigers had eleven girls compete in the schools first ever sanctioned wrestling tournament on Saturday. The Tigers headed to Nevada, finishing the tournament 10-19 in matches with six girls winning a match and three girls placing. They ended the day with 8 wins by fall, one by decision and one by injury.

Emma Daniels had the best day for Carroll going 3-1 overall with all three of her wins by fall, including one win in 0:18. Daniels advanced into the semifinals before suffering her first loss. She bounced back with a win by fall in the 3rd place match. Averi Burke took 4th place, going 2-2 on the day. She won her opening match by fall, then won in the quarterfinals by fall. Burke lost in the semifinals, then dropped her final match of the day for 3rd place. Kloee Jones also placed for Carroll, taking 8th place, going 1-3. She won her first match of the day by fall, then dropped her next three matches. Zoey Kelly picked up a pair of wins for Carroll, dropping her first match, but bouncing back nicely to win her 3rd round consolation match by decision, then her final match by injury. Julia Kanne went 1-1 with her win coming by fall in her final match of the day, winning in 0:29. Riley Coats had the Tigers other win, going 1-2 on the day, winning her second match of the day by fall in 0:42.

Kuemper and South Central Calhoun At Ridge View Tournament

South Central Calhoun had eight wrestlers compete with seven of them in the gold bracket and one in the silver bracket. Kuemper also had four wrestlers on Saturday in Ridge View with all four in the silver bracket. South Central Calhoun finished the day 12-17 while Kuemper went 6-7. The Titans had 7 girls place, with their top finish at 4th place in the gold bracket. Kuemper had all four wrestlers place with Grace Hoffman taking 1st place and Sadie Smith in 2nd place. South Central Calhoun won all 12 of their wins by fall. The Knights won all 6 of their wins by fall.

Kourtney King led South Central Calhoun with a 4th place finish, going 2-2 with both her wins by fall. Iris Melody went 1-2, taking 5th place with her win by fall in 0:39. Lacey Martin battled, going 2-2, finishing in 5th place with both of her wins by fall. Evelyn Kramer went 2-1 on the day, winning both of her matches by fall while taking 7th place.
