Girls State Swimming Results Saturday, November 12th

Carroll Girls had three events compete on Saturday at the State Meet. Their day started with the 200 Medley Relay competing in Heat 2, Lane 4. They had a strong start from Hailey Burns, then Emma Myers kept them in 1st place in their heat. Everything stayed strong with Amelia Holt and Zelda DeMoss holding off any challenges as they won their heat in 1:52.99. They were in 1st place at that point of the event, finishing in 16th place overall. The Tigers had a long break before their next event, allowing them to get ready for the 200 Free Relay. Emma Myers would lead off the race, followed by Natalie Kent, Hailey Burns and Amelia Holt. They swam a 1:42.95, taking 7th in their heat and 19th place overall. Emma Myers quickly had to prepare herself for her last event of the day. She was in lane 1 of the 2nd heat of the 100 Breaststroke, having qualified in the top 8 on Friday in the prelims. Myers swam strong but may have been feeling the impacts of the earlier races, taking 8th place with a 1:05.85.  The Tigers closed out a strong season with 5 events qualifying for the State Meet.
