The East Sac Raiders kept their playoffs hopes alive as they picked up their first win of the season on homecoming night against the MVAOCOU Rams.

The first quarter was close between both teams with the Rams getting in the endzone and completing a two-point conversion. East Sac would also give themselves a touchdown along with an extra point conversion to make the score 8-7 after the first quarter concluded. The second quarter belonged to the Rams as they’d get six points on the board and led 14-7 at halftime. The Raiders were able to run in two touchdowns thanks to Luke Wright and Landon Grindle and Wright threw a touchdown pass to Tate Lahr, which was the only reception of the game for East Sac

Raiders Head Coach Eric McCollough said to start off the second half, the Raiders were able to force a fumble to give themselves great field position, which led to a touchdown, which tied the game at 14-14. The Raiders kept their momentum going with another touchdown drive that gave them the lead for the first time at 21-14. MVAOCOU kept their offensive alive in the fourth quarter with a long pass play that got them down to the two-yard line. The Rams were then penalized twice off illegal motion calls, bringing them to a third down situation. The Raiders got a nice tackle and a knock down in the endzone to give them the position of the football. They’d eventually have to punt the ball away and gave MVAOCOU a chance with the football with four second left. The final play of the game was a pass attempt from the Rams that was knocked down by the Raiders defense, giving East Sac the 21-14 win on homecoming.

The Raiders win their first game of the season, giving them a chance to make the playoffs with a win next week at West Monona.
