Volleyball Results for Monday, September 26th
Kuemper At Roland Story Tournament
Kuemper went 3-1 in matches on Monday night, falling to the host in Roland Story in 3 sets, beating Marshalltown, Prairie City Monroe and South Hardin, all in two sets. The Knights dropped the first set to Roland Story 21-19, tied the match with a win in set two, 21-17. They battled back in third set, down 11-6 but the rally came up just short, falling 15-13. Kuemper went 6-0 in sets against the other three opponents on Monday. They had a tough second set against South Hardin, winning 23-21 and a tough second set against PCM winning 21-19, otherwise were in control in the other four sets. They won set one vs South Hardin 21-15, topped Marshalltown 21-13 and 21-11 and beat PCM 21-10 in set one.
Ashlyn Badding had a team high 49 assists and tied for the team lead with 5 aces. Macy Simons added 27 assists and 11 digs. Sophie Badding led a balanced attack at the net with 21 kills, Aubrey Heuton had 14 kills, Lauren Boell 13 kills, Kaci Peter 11 kills and Brianna Wittrock and Frannie Glynn both had 9 kills. Kaylie Simons paced the defense in the back row with 21 digs and tied for the team lead with 5 aces. Brooke Rohe added 14 digs, Brianna Wittrock had 16 digs and Kaci Peter added 8 digs. Aubrey Heuton finished with 4 aces, Sophie Badding led the team with 11 blocks and Heuton had 4 blocks.
The Knights improved to 25-4 on the season and will host Glenwood on Tuesday on KIKD 106.7 and the Carroll Broadcasting Sports Network YouTube Channel.
