Girls Cross Country Results Saturday, September 24th
Kuemper At Harlan
The Kuemper girls had a solid day with two runners in the top 25 with one runner in the top 10. The Knights finished 12th with 266 points. Marie Dea set her personal best, finishing 7th in a time of 20:16.43. Dea felt she started well and ran a good race, hanging around the top 10 most of the race, after getting through the pack early in the race. She felt really strong the first mile but slowed some in the hills during the second mile. She says she knew she needed to pick up the tempo the last mile and did, finishing strong. Her goal was to break her best time and was able to accomplish it. Kanne hung in the top 25 most of the race, and made her best move in the second mile through the hills. She was able to weave her way through the traffic, running strong up and down the hills. Kanne wanted to finish in the top 20 but came up less than 2 seconds short, taking 21st.
