Kuemper At Harlan
Kuemper had a really good showing against a strong field as they took 5th overall with 160 points, dropping times with several of their runners. The Knights had two runners finish in the top fifteen and four in the top 50. Ryan North led the way taking 10th, running a strong race and closing strong. North got stuck in the pack early but worked his way into the top 15 through the first mile. He stayed in that grouping most of the rest of the race, saying he struggled some with the hills in the second mile but knew he needed to close strong and made a nice move down the stretch, catching a few runners over the last half mile, including one near the finish line. He ran his best race of the season by around ten seconds. Jacob Greving didn’t get a chance to run the last race for the Knights and felt pretty fresh going into the day. He got bunched in off the start but stayed with his pace, knowing some of the runners had gone out really fast and wouldn’t be able to maintain the pace. He worked his way up through the pack. He ran most of the rest of the race near the top 15, finishing 12th. He goal was to run close to North and he was able to do that. Greving was really good in the hills, through the second mile. He was able to pass runners going up hills and on the downhill. Greving ran his best race this season.
