Ar-We-Va, Audubon, IKM-Manning and South Central Calhoun At Carroll Tournament
South Central Calhoun battled back after falling to Audubon in pool play, knocking off Storm Lake to qualify for the semifinals. They earned their third straight tournament championship with wins over Fort Dodge in the semifinals and a hard fought come from a set behind to beat Newell Fonda in the finals. The Titans finished the day 4-1 in matches and 9-3 in sets. Audubon went 2-2 in matches but turned things around after a very slow start to the morning. The Wheelers lost their first match of the day, falling behind 8-0 in set 1 to Storm Lake before forcing the match to a third set. The Wheelers had to rebound again, losing their first set to South Central Calhoun 21-12, the Wheelers dug deep and won two close sets (23-21, 15-13) to beat the Titans. The would go 2-1 in pool play, finishing 2nd, advancing into the semifinals. They fell to Newell Fonda, who won the other pool and was 3-0 entering the match. The Wheelers went 5-3 in sets in pool play and finished 5-5 for the day. Carroll won their opening match, topping IKM-Manning in 2, then dropped matches to Newell Fonda and Fort Dodge. The Tigers went 1-2, finishing 3rd in their pool. They went 2-4 in sets. IKM-Manning battled hard, losing two really close sets to Fort Dodge in their final match, losing 21-18. 21-19 (led most of the set). The Wolves finished the day 0-3 in matches and 0-6 in sets. Ar-We-Va showed vast improvement from Thursday. They went 0-3 in matches and 0-6 in sets but were in both sets against Storm Lake, losing 21-19, 21-19 along with playing well in their opening set vs South Central Calhoun and both sets in their loss to Audubon.
Riley Batta had another outstanding day for the Titans. She got her 1,000 career kill while finishing with a team high 44 kills, along with 30 digs and 4 aces. Keira Hammen continues a special year with 38 kills and a team high 11 blocks. Brenna McAlister added 18 kills and 21 digs while Jayci Graeve was sharp in working the ball to her hitters that were swinging well. She finished the tournament with 93 assists, added 15 digs, 3 blocks and 5 aces. Alexa Holm had 17 digs and 3 aces. Elysia Smith tied with Graeve for the team lead with 5 aces.
Mattie Nielsen continues to show her abilities for the Wheelers, leading them with 31 kills along with 13 digs and 3 aces. Harlow Miller shows a bunch of potential as a freshman with 10 kills and 10 blocks. Madison Steckler finished with 9 kills. Addie Hocker had 51 of the teams 53 assists along with 10 digs, 5 blocks and 5 aces. Audrey Jensen had a team high 23 digs and led the team with 8 aces. Kylee Hartl added 13 digs and 4 aces.
Carroll was led by Shay Sinnard with 10 kills, Camryn Schable with 6 kills and Katelyn Aden and Olivia Rowedder each with 5 kills. Kaitlyn Tigges had a team high 12 assists, Riley Nagle finished with 5 assists. Madison Tunning had 8 digs and a team high 4 aces. Camryn Schable and Riley Nagl added 3 aces each.
IKM-Manning was led by Megan Williams with 9 kills with Mabel Langel and Kylie Powers each with 4 kills. Amber Halbur had 13 assits and Ella Richards added 8 assists. Anna Stangl had a team high 20 digs and was tied with Ella Richards for the team lead with 2 aces each.
Ar-We-Va was led by Maggie Ragaller with 12 kills, 12 digs and 3 digs. Delaney Schurke had solid day with 32 assists, 6 digs and 3 aces. Jamie Hausman finished with 8 kills along with 16 digs. Kora Obrecht added 13 digs while Samantha Hinners had a team high 5 blocks.
South Central Calhoun hosts Pocahontas Area and SE Valley on Thursday. Audubon goes to Underwood on Tuesday. Carroll is at Ballard on Tuesday. Ar-We-Va hosts Boyer Valley on Monday and IKM-Manning entertains Treynor on Tuesday.

Coon Rapids Bayard At OA-BCIG Tournament
The Crusaders closed the day with a nice win, battling back to win their final two sets against AHSTW to win the match 2-1. They finished the day 1-3 in matches and 2-7 in sets. The Crusaders showed some resolve in their win over AHSTW, having struggled to serve in the first set, they settled down and played their best sets of the day. Things started slowly for the Crusaders, falling in two sets to OA-BCIG, dropping the first set 21-6, but playing better in set two, losing 21-15. Lawton Bronson had a big height advantage and swept the Crusaders in 2.
Malia Clayburg had a team high 10 kills and led the team with 6 blocks. Gracy Johnson and Aubrey Hofbauer both had 6 kills, Johnson added 23 assists and 22 digs while Hofbauer had 9 digs. Lydia Hofbauer added 15 digs, Anna Hart had a 25 digs and Lacie Davis led the team with 34 digs. Violet Johnson also had 10 digs.
The Crusaders are at Glidden Ralston on Tuesday.

Glidden Ralston At AC-GC Tournament
Glidden Ralston avenged their only loss in the tournament in the finals, winning the Charger Invitational on Saturday. They finished the day 4-1 in matches and 9-4 in sets. Their only loss was in pool play against AC-GC. They struggled early in the match, dropping set 1, 21-8, bounced back in set 2 to win 21-16, but fell in the 3rd set 15-12. They cruised through most of the rest of pool play only losing one more set, beating Nodaway Valley 2-1. They swept Exira-EHK and West Central Valley in the semifinals. That set up a rematch with AC-GC in the finals. The Chargers controlled set 1, winning 21-16, but this time the Wildcats had the answer. They pulled out a tight 21-19 win in set 2, then took the momentum into the final set, winning 15-11.
Glidden Ralston had 4 hitters in double figures with Paige Klocke leading the way with 33 kills, followed by Vanessa Koehler with 27 and Lauren Hulsing 20. Addy Boell, the setter finished with 10 kills, to go with 70 assists and 44 digs. Tiela Janssen led the back row with 93 digs, followed by Vanessa Koehler 62, Lauren Hulsing 61, Summer Toms 46, Paige Klocke 45 and Ashlynn Tigges 38. Hulsing had a team high 9 blocks and Summer Toms led the Wildcats with 5 aces, Paige Klocke had 4 aces and Ashlynn Tigges 3 aces.
The Wildcats host Coon Rapids Bayard on Tuesday.
