Kuemper At Gilbert Invite

Kuemper finished 7th in a strong field on Thursday at the Iowa State University Course in Ames. They finished with 204 points, holding off Bondurant Farrar with 227 points. The Knights had a pair of runners in the top 30 with Ryan North setting the lead with a 14th place finish. Jacob Greving slipped into the top 30 at 30th.

The Knights are scheduled to run at Ridge View on Saturday.

Coon Rapids Bayard and IKM-Manning At Audubon Invite

IKM-Manning boys were dominant on Thursday with four runners in the top 5 and eight in the top 20. Audubon and Coon Rapids Bayard didn’t have enough runners for a team score with the Wheelers running two runners and the Crusaders one.

Caden Keller ran away with the race, leading the whole race and winning by 1:14 over the 2nd place finisher. Keller says he attacked the hills, as he is trying to break the Wolves school record. He did break the school course record. Keller ran in 17:42.3, Lane Sams was 3rd followed by Reed Hinners in 4th and Nathan Johnson in 5th place.

Landon Cook of Coon Rapids Bayard was strong early, but is battling an injury in his ankle region and it flared up between a mile and mile and half into the race. He fought though, finishing with a good time in 15th place.

Eli Deist paced the Wheelers in 37th place. He felt he ran well on the downhills and was satisfied with his race, coming close to the time he wanted to be at on Thursday.
