Girls Cross Country Results Thursday, August 25th

East Sac and South Central Calhoun At SE Valley Invite

Chloe Judisch and Iris Melody hung inside the top 10 the entire meet on Thursday, giving South Central Calhoun two top 10 finishes in their first meet of the season. The Titans finished 6th overall, not a bad finish, as they were missing one of their top runners. East Sac only competed with three runners and didn’t have a team score but Kortni Thomsen led the way in 49th place, giving them a runner in the top 50. Judisch went out strong and said she had to battle through the final two miles after running about 20 seconds faster than her goal in the first mile. She closed strong, passing a runner for 6th place in the final 400 meters. Iris Melody wasn’t far behind, running well in her first varsity meet. She finished 10th and closed the race strong. Adlen Wheelock had a really nice burst to end the race for the Titans finishing in 40th place. Kortni Thomsen led the Raiders, finding a couple girls she could pace herself with after a really strong start that had her in the top 20. Her second mile wasn’t as strong but she felt she was able to finish the final mile plus well.
