Carroll Girls Swimming Team Brings Back Talented Junior Class for 2022 Season

The Carroll Tigers girls’ swimming team will bring back a large portion of their 2021-2022 team that dominated and brought seven events to last year’s state swimming meet. From those state events last season, Sophia Polking, Emma Myers, Hailey Burns, and Amelia Holt will be returning and are looking to make another effort to qualify for the state swimming meet.

Myers, just a sophomore last season, was part of two state qualifying relay teams and also qualified for two individual events, the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, where she set a new school record in the latter. Holt was a great addition to the relays Carroll had last season and had some solid individual times as well and looks to keep improving in her junior season. Polking will be the lone senior on this team and has plenty of experience to teach and guide the up-and-coming swimmers on the team. She was able to give the Tigers some solid performances in their relays and looks to keep pushing down her individual times.

Burns is another swimmer in the stacked junior class this season that brings back state experience from last season. She, just like Polking, will look to keep improving her individual times while giving the Tigers a solid swimmer in their relays. Ellie Beagle, Delaney McAndrew, and Sydney Bellinghausen are all swimmers that finished 2021 with plenty of top-five finishes individually while helping their multiple relay teams to top finishes and look to be great additions to this year’s team.
