East Sac baseball was a young squad in 2022 and had some individuals rank among the best statistically in the Twin Lakes Conference. South Central Calhoun, under the direction of a new head coach, were mostly made up of sophomores and eighth graders, but also had some of their athletes complete a solid 2022 season ranked statistically well in the conference.
Weston Drost had a solid junior season where he finished 13th overall in batting averages with an average of .359 and had an on base percentage of .519, good for third overall in the conference. Drost was the ace pitcher for the Raiders and overall, in the conference he finished tied for 24th overall in strikeouts with 25 and 14th overall in pitches with 624 on the season. Logan Schoeder recorded two saves this season and had the most among his counterparts in the Twin Lakes Conference.
South Central Calhoun will be in good hands next season as Kaden Dorman and Andrew Anderson had standout seasons this summer. Dorman finished with the second-best batting average in the conference at .444, 12th most RBIs with 19, eighth most bases with 38, and was tied for sixth in slugging percentage at 0.528. Anderson’s season included ranking 5th overall in batting averages with an average of .409, tied for seventh with 27 hits, and on the hill was 4th overall with a BAA of .172 and eighth overall in strikeouts with 50 on the season. Seniors Jayden Soard finished his high school career with a great 2022 performance. Soard was 4th overall in on base percentages with a percentage of .507, tied for 13th in stolen bases with 19, and tied for ninth in thrown out stealing with three.
